if fine wine was easily attainable every one would have a bottle, or a good woman or a well made car. i prefer quality over quantity. and if we have to wait so be it.

Look, Rob works an insane amount of hours producing mods, taking steps to increase production and keeping costs reasonable, and keeping the quality high. If you knew the history behind these mod's you would know that. Went from 100 mods made in two months to over 400 mods/month now....and the sky is the limit. What other mod maker produces on that scale?
No, this is not just a hobby for him...this is his livelihood. So frankly, no one is more acutely aware of the supply and demand dynamic in his market. And he's making his business grow properly, one step at a time. Henry Ford didn't turn and burn his company in less than a year. Lets be realistic here.
....and I find it humorous anyone would presume to point out the error of his practices. You don't know how many machine shops and anodizers he has gone through just to get to this point....getting a high quality product in a timely manner seems to be the "white whale" for many suppliers, not just Rob. This is a massive industry in its infancy and is going to have its growing pains regardless of whether we like it or not.

My only question regarding the supply and demand for Reos Mods is this: Why not permit pre-ordering?
As a person who is literally never going to be available to participate in the buying frenzy at 7pm on a weekday, I'd gladly pay 100% up-front to ensure that I'm able to get one.
I foolishly thought I'd be able to finally buy one when I got home from work last night at 7:40, (as I always do). And I once again found myself hugely disappointed, and a little bit angry.
As a person who is literally never going to be available to participate in the buying frenzy at 7pm on a weekday, I'd gladly pay 100% up-front to ensure that I'm able to get one.
I foolishly thought I'd be able to finally buy one when I got home from work last night at 7:40, (as I always do). And I once again found myself hugely disappointed, and a little bit angry.

2. Rob is kidnapped by Libiyans and forced to make mods for them BEFORE he can build and ship your mod.

It's his choice to list them for sale when they are available for sale. I think that is in the customer's best interest, not Rob's. It would sure be an easier business plan for him to work using other people's money. But remember, there have been a few bad apples who took money for mods that were never made, and disappeared.

Completely understandable.
We've seen this happen before to more than a few folks. So, sometimes he posts sales on a Saturday to accomodate those who can't be available on weekdays. Also, you are always welcome to PM Rob and explain your circumstances and see if there is an arrangement that can be made. He has made these types of arrangements before...he has no intentions of taking anyone's money without having something to ship the next day or two. It is easy to keep track of a special arrangement or two per sale, instead of a bunch of pre-orders. So you see...its not all for naught. 
I didnt see much problem getting any of the REO mods I'll soon have in my possession. I was on the notify list for a Woodvil last week, I got it, and there are still a few of those available today. I purchased a Grand last night by 7:05 and if something came up, I had someone set to buy one for me. They pop up on the classifieds quite often as well.
I think people who really want these mods should be happy that they continue to be produced and become available in a pretty timely fashion as opposed to a lot of other highly saught after mods.

Caffeinated, Do like I did...sneak into your employers bathroom with your phone to purchase! I had to get creative to make this happen, but thats enough info. on that.
Just wanted to add my .02 towards the OP and anyone obviously disappointed by the quick sell outs. Let me say first, i dont know Rob well like some in this forum. That being said, I think he takes tremendous efforts to notify everyone of an upcoming sale. He updates his site, posts in the forums, and even offers a "Notify Me" option on his website. As to the whole pre order option, it seems like a good idea. However, the orders would probably become so far backed up that someone just discovering the Reo Mods (Like Myself) would have to wait ages to actually get one.
I heard about Reos less than a month ago, and managed to get a Grand the first time they became available. I also had a close friend willing to take the reins on the purchase had i not been home to do it myself.
Although i feel for the people with schedule conflicts, are you all telling me you cant find ANYONE close to make the purchase for you? I find this hard to believe.

They are worth the wait... I have wanted one for several months... and recently, I acquired a grand and a mini. They were worth the wait. The proprietor (Rob?) is a great guy... Like everyone else, I waited, missed sales and I put it out into the universe that I wanted one... and the universe kept me high and dry.... It didn't respond... I just got lucky.
As far as the issues of supply and demand and productivity and entrepreneurship...
I think that you have to have faith that the guy is doing the best he can. He's got a hot product with what I would consider the Rolls Royce of juice-feeding systems.
I have a friend who sells e-liquid and a few of his flavors sell out within an hour on the site. He's a one man operation...
Not sure how the mod making business works, but when you rely on multiple other businesses to get you your parts and ingredients, there's a bottleneck and the flow slows.
...and the jump an entrepreneur makes from a one man to a two or three man operation is not always cost effective. That is an extremely huge jump in a business this new and fertile. It could break him as fast as it could make him...
anyway, have you sent Rob a kind email stating your wish of owning one? In my experience, some kindness and good will goes a long way in a business this new and fertile. Seems all of my new best friends are my suppliers.
