Hello,

I ordered a protank 3 last night, and today I got a mail that they did not have it in stock.
And they asked me if I wanted to change my order, and I told them to switch the protank 3 to protank 2.

So I just got one question, Is there a big difference between theese 2 models.
I know that the protank 3 is dual coil.

Any answers is appreciated!

Thanks!

That's the only difference as far as I know.

I have a PT 3 and have yet to touch it. I don't know if the coils are easily rebuildable or if its easy to change the wick (I don't like silica, prefer cotton) so I haven't bothered with it. I have recently seen replacement coil heads for sale now so if my two coil coil heads wore out I could replace them. If the original PT single coil heads can work on it then that would be a plus.

I've been happy with my mini PT 2's.

The PT2 coils fit in the PT3. I was cleaning my PT2 tanks and somehow a PT3 tank ended up in the mix. Unintentially a PT2 was installed into the PT3 tank. It worked just fine.

There's a youtube on how to rebuild the PT3 coils.

Very interesting. I moved over to RBAs recently so I haven't been playing with the PT3 as much.

My two cents. The Davide-S and Protank 3 are both marginally better than the PT1 and PT2 as an out of the box vape. Yes, the vape from a dual coil is better than a single coil but also requires more power. I don't think the increase in cost for heads and increase in power consumption for either of the dual coils is worth the increase in vape quality and can be surpassed by a rebuilt single coil head in a Protank. I would recommend either to someone who wanted the best vape possible and wasn't really concerned about the cost or battery life. My preference between the Aspire BDC and PT3 leans toward the PT3 since I find it has a better quality of flavor than the Davide-S and BDC heads.

I am guessing that you used the whole BASE from the PT2. The thing shown below that says "Protank II base". I think it is different from the Protank III Base. The "Protank base" screws onto the bottom of both. And the Tank screws on to the top of both.

Weird really how these models are so different. But you can see why though right. Otherwise you could just use your dual coils in your Protank II without having to buy a Protank III.

It looks like you can unscrew the whole bottom part from either and swap them around.

The part labelled "Protank 3" stays with the dual-coil.
The part labelled "Protank 2" stays with the regular evod coil.

Kanger Protank 3 Clearomizer

Note:

•The Kanger Protank is filled from the bottom.
•We highly recommend using priority mail to ship this item. First class is in a bubble mailer and can damage. Priority uses a sturdy box.
Only difference between V2 and V3 is the coil. You can swap parts and turn a V2 in to a V3.

I have both the PT2 and the PT3. I remove the flavor wicks from my PT2s on first cleaning and install cotton flavor wicks. I have been using the PT3 with the stock heads just as they come out of the box.

PT3 so far...

Does not seem to be a "warmer vape", I thought it did for a minute but side by side vaped the two with the same juice/settings and not much difference other than the PT3 is airier on the draw.
Does have an airier draw.
Does not leak, or gurgle. (none of my other protank stuff leaks or floods with real Kanger heads)
Not unhappy with the purchase (Caveat Below) but do not get the overall difference.

Caveat: I have a few Protank 2s and minis, I use the protanks for work and use RBAs at home. Just because I can lay the mod with tank down or put in a shirt pocket and not have to worry. I bought the PT3 just to try the new tank out but really wish I would have waited. Kanger has some new tanks out and will be shipping some time in the first quarter.
Kanger Aero - Dual coil evolution of the Protank series with adjustable airflow.
Kanger Evod2 - Dual coil evolution of the EVOD with adjustable air flow, with removable drip tip.
Protank 2 and 3 airflow control
and some other stuff.

Kinda wish I would have waited. I think with the amount of knockoff protank/evod series heads there are out there Kanger is rolling out newer stuff with different heads to get some more money till those are knocked off. I do not know that they can keep up with current items on the market much less totally new models. Time will tell. One thing is for sure this is a fast moving, rapidly evolving industry.

Edit: You can put single coil heads in a Protank 3. They do leak if laid on their side. Other than that they work.
