Is there a dictionary/glossary of "E-cig" terms anywhere in the forums?

On a serious note the ego battery is a manual battery (push button to fire) they are very popular and an excellent first choice. There are many types of ego battery but they all do the same thing. They power whatever accessory u have attached to them. Any "510" accessory will work with an ego. There are also accesories disingned specifically for the ego "ego thread" such as a clearomizer. I suggest a 600-900mah ego with a clearomizer as an excellent starter kit. Make sure the clearomizer you get is rated at 2ohm as this seems to work great for egos.

If you get an "ego twist" battery you will e able to change the voltage of your vape.

Lord, I'm enrolled in E-cig school now. And I can see there's a lot to learn.

Anyone ever heard of a retailer called "Tampa Vapor," in (surprise) Tampa, FL? I think I'm going to go down there today and see if I can get a more hands on education.

I know you can spend from $7.99 or so for an E-cig in a drugstore and probably up to a couple of hundred or more for a complete set-up.

I don't want to spend a lot of money initially in case the whole E-cig thing doesn't agree with me for some reason.

So what do you folks think I should get for an initial set-up and what should it cost approximately? I realize the question can be answered only "in general," but please do your best.

Later today, using the advice given here, I will hit the store and buy what? I'm not sure at this point but I will report back afterward and let you know what I bought.

Thank you all very much.

B&M? I don't think that's in the dictionary. What does it mean?

And as an aside. it occurs to me that sellers of all things E-cig make their money on the "come back," as it were.

For example, computer printers are pretty cheap, but the manufacturers really make their money on the ink.

Will it be worthwhile to try to negotiate with this retailer on the price of a "start-up" kit by mentioning that if he or she gives me a break on the intial price, the store will make a lot more money from me when I come back in the future?

Let me point out that Tampa has a few E-cig retailers but the one I will go to first is the one closer to home. So will it be worth my time to try to negotiate? I have the feeling these retailers enjoy a healthy mark-up on these products.

Oh yeah, is there any specific product or pitfall I should avoid? I know I'm asking a lot of "personal opinion" questions.

The answers I receive here will lead to further research in hopes I find some sort of general consensus by E-cig users.

I just want to avoid getting "upsold" or "oversold" on stuff I don't really need.

I'm sure you know what I mean...stuff like - "I think we have just what you need here, sir. this starter kit is only $169. 95 and it comes with the very special universal juice. A few drops on a hamburger will make it taste like filet mignon AND a few drops added to your washing machine will make your laundry come out as soft and sweet smelling as a summer breeze."

So, in essence, I'm looking for advice on how to best get started but not get screwed financially right out of the starting gate.

you need an ego kit and juice to start up.
do it today. buy one.
negotiating is always worth it.
If you stick with vaping, and.. you will...
your going to end up with a ton of cartomizers, cartomizer tanks, & clearomizer tanks.
simply because vaping each one of those gives you a new experience, and its fun.
yes there are things to avoid, but you dont have to avoid anything in the stage your in.
your a new vaper. all you need is your ego batteries, cartomizers, an atomizer maybe, and a clearo maybe.
ego spinners are better than regular egos because you can make them more or less powerful.

as soon as you get that kit....
(or two batteries, a charger, atty+carto+clearo and juice)
....and you realize vaping is BETTER than smoking...
the key in ur head will turn & you wont have to be so skeptical of everything.

Its going to be more of a journey than a DO THIS- GET HERE- STOP.
well, if you want it to be.

I do recommend you look at prices for kits online and shop around to find the best price.
I do recommend you hit youtube and look for reviews on the products your interested in.
I do recommend you plug the products your interested in into the search here on this forum.
as soon as you learn to do this you'll be a pro researcher & a guru in no time flat.

enjoy your vaping journey.

if your closer to st pete there is smokers vapor but i'd stay away for hardware. Also smoktek.com is in st pete so most orders will get there next day. I'd start with an ego and a cartomizer tank setup.there is a tampa bay monthly vape meet as well if you want to learn more

B & M stores or "vape shops" prices may be more expensive than what can be found online; after all, they do have an overhead to have a store to present products in, not just a warehouse like an online distributor uses. B & M stores have the advantage for the customer to actually view products in person and possibly try it in the store. The salesman may even offer to demo a device or assemble some products, such as a cartotank. Many vape shops have a "juice bar" where you can try samples of the e-liquid flavors before buying. If you are lucky enough to live near a B & M vape shop and they offer good products and service, I believe it is important to support them. It is a huge advantage to be able to walk into a store to make a purchase or try out an new juice flavor, than to take a chance on something a little unknown from a vendor online.

I generally do NOT like starter kits, but I generally know exactly what I need for a typical setup. Many starter kits come with pieces that I know that I will never use, so I'm paying for something that will be wasted. I've been vaping long enough to know where the best place to get certain gear with the best selection and best price.

For instance, if buying a new mod, I would purchase the battery holder itself alone. I would then head over to RTD Vapor for batteries, battery recharger, battery cases, and drip tips if I needed any of those.

I prefer to buy genuine brand products. I believe that you get what you pay for with these. I prefer to get genuine Joytech, Vision, AW brand batteries, Pila or Xtar rechargers, etc. I have also found that the best e-liquids come from vendors that deal only with e-juice. Most multi-product e-cig vendors make most of their money on equipment, not juices, so that is their focus. If an e-juice vendor doesn't have a great juice line, they won't be in business very long, because that is their primary focus.
