Is there a way to make the "site maintenence" message go away?

Most messages have a "x" to remove it once you have read, digested, signed petitions, whatever, but this one has no "x."

Can it acquire one? Please? Pretty please?

It takes it a while to load, and in between I have started to scroll--then it loads and messes up my place.

I understand about the site work, don't need a link to reactivate a Facebook account, and am (pretty) patient, generally. I just want that to be able to go away now that I have it stored on my hard-drive

(Sorry if this sounds like I am complaining--I am not. Love the site!)

The upgrades are great, but they always take longer than expected. That is just normal. Sort of like remodeling a kitchen...
