I am just wondering what is the difference between US extracted and eg India extracted nicotine? Corret me if I'm wrong but all (or almost all) gums and patches are made using nicotine extracted in Asia.
The most important thing is the purity of the product. If it's certified then it doesn't matter whether it's extracted in Asia, US or Africa. The key factor is connected with magical code - USP, PhEur or BP (British Pharmacopoeia not Big Pharma of course).
@Link: US-sourced doesn't mean US-extracted.
Old Chemist speaks the truth.
Just because you buy nicotine at a premium from a distributor/lab/chemical supply company with a US address doesn't mean that it was extracted here.
Just like me buying bottles from
US Plastics doesn't mean I'm not going to be waiting on a shipment from China when they are out of stock on an item.
The biggest chemical suppliers are multinational corporations with facilities around the globe. They are going to produce their product wherever is in the best interest of their stockholders and bottom-line.
What matters most is purity and following current Good Manufacturing Practices which meet the requirements of the US Pharmacopeia (USP), or EU, BP equivalent.
I worry a lot more about the unknown and unstudied effects of vaping artificial flavorings than I do about the nicotine, especially given the ratio of each in eliquid.
1.8% nicotine to 10-20% flavoring.
