After vaping for four years now, I could stop vaping if I wanted to.
Well, for the most part anyway.

I work from home, and my vape gear is on my desk in front of me.
My liquids are in the drawer next to me.

But it is rare now that I even have my first vape before mid-afternoon.
In fact it is not uncommon for me to not start vaping until after work when I have a couple of glasses of wine before dinner.

Vaping for no reason just doesn't seem worth the effort anymore.

Why don't I stop vaping then?
Well, I'll tell you why.
:)

I WANT to continue using nicotine for the rest of my life, and fully intend to do so.
I believe it is beneficial, and has an extremely low risk profile as long as your heart is healthy.

And also, when I drink, I have to vape otherwise I WILL smoke.
And I am not going to stop drinking any time soon.
:)

So, am I completely unusual? Is there anyone else out there like me? Or am I going it all alone here?

My guess is that there may be a few people out there in the same boat.
But they probably just quit vaping and move on rather than sticking around here all day.

HA! No you are not alone. I swore I would smoke analogs until the day I died, but switched 2 months ago to my ecig. Now I'm stuck on this for the rest of my life lol. A couple of my friends are trying to use it to ween themselves off of smoking/vaping entirely. I say to hell with that and keep vaping! (And drinking!)

I'm also a bit down the road as far as vaping is concerned. I do find that I only REALLY want a vape after having some adult beverages. Sometime my first vape will be after dinner. I thoroughly enjoy vaping, but it in no way is the focal point of my day like ciggies use to be or like vaping was when I first started. After 25+ years of smoking and to be where I am now with my nicotine consumption is why vaping is truly a gift.

I'm just at the beginning stages, so I'm still smoking a VERY LITTLE bit. But I have been able to go with just 2-3 per day for a while now. The mornings and after meals are hardest for me.

I'm glad to hear you are where you are now. You have broken your tie to cigarettes and are in full control of your nicotine intake. If you want to stay on nicotine - great. Just be proud that the carcinogens and smoke are gone. Great job, and inspiring story.

Ask me that question again one year from now, ok? :D

Two weeks from my 3 year anniversary I'm seeing myself headed toward where you are at. I've been without an addiction to nicotine for a long time now and most often vape zero nic. I still enjoy some nic sometimes and like you, see no reason to totally stop using it ever. I've continued to vape often because I enjoy vaping, but I feel that changing lately. I started the morning vaping on the way to work with a 13 month old Ego Twist that's lucky if it keeps its charge for an hour. I finally had to put it on the charger at 4 this afternoon  I can see a future where I vape low nic juice when out drinking or enjoying a cocktail on our front porch or even when visiting with friends that vape but otherwise my vape gear stays on the shelf.

Guess I'll have to wait and see what the coming year brings :D

I can understanding wanting nicotine. I started vaping recently simply as a less expensive nicotine administration system (liquid nicotine is cheap compared to gum or any other medium, without all the undesired chemicals that come with smoking). Now I'm not addicted to nicotine, but I'm what you could call a 'life hacker' and heavily utilize cognitive enhancing nootropics aka "smart drugs", and nicotine is just one more variable to work with on the acetylcholine receptors in my brain. And it's one of the few rare OTC stimulants even available which is why I had retaken an interest in Nicotine even after having quitting smoking years back cold turkey. Heck, it goes further than that, I wont even touch anything with depressant properties (so I don't drink for example), anything that doesn't improve my cognitive abilities and overall productivity is not something relevant to my interests and goals.

Definitely don't think you're unusual, take life and just make it your own as you see fit :)

I guess the only weird part is that vapor may not really be an efficient nicotine administration means, looking through studies through the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMED), there just hasn't been enough study done, but it definitely seems to be lower than actual tobacco combustion despite higher nicotine content in the source. If I asked how much juice, at what nicotine concentration, would I have to vape to absorb X amount of nicotine into my body, nobody can give me an answer (for the sake of argument, ignoring further variables such as acidity levels in the mouth etc that affect oral absorption such as via gum).

If you're weird, we can be weird together.
