I was wondering if anyone has tried this new 18650 3100mah batt from amazon? I am trying to use it with my Apollo Vtube? I have ask Apollo customer service but he direct me here.

Here is the link Amazon.com: 18650 Smart Li-ion Charger and Two 3100mAh Panasonic Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Batteries Kit (NEW Version): Electronics

I have only 2 concern

1) it wont explode when I vape
2) It wont catch fire when charging

how about this

http://www.amazon.com/UltraFire-300...FU62/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335745055&sr=8-1

I just freak out after reading an article about ecig exploding and that poor chap lost part of his tongue. Anyway I am so glad I quit smoking for 1 month already. I have been smoking for 18 years, and I am just so very very happy now. I taste better, eat with more flavor and generally a more happy person. Anyway back to battery questions.

Don't use those batteries. You don't want to use PCB protected batteris in a Lavatube.

The best batteries you can get for your Lavatube, despite what AW fanboys might tell you, is the Panasonic 2250mah CGR18650CH. They beat the socks off AWs in every respect. If you doubt that, go to the Lavatube forum and find the thread titled something like "new panasonic japanese batteries, an AW slayer?". There are links to videos, charts, datasheets and all the proof you need that they are currently the ultimate LT battery. The good news is that they cost less than the AW batteries. You can get them for $10 shipped from orbtronic.com or Smartvapes.com has them for $7.99. I think there may be another vendor or two as well.

I don't know what's wrong with the guy at Apollo. Those batteries are likely too long and you won't be able to close the cap all the way on the Lavatube. The same place that sells those batteries is also the same place that sells the other Panasonics, so maybe he was confused.

Do not use Ultrafire, Trustfire or any of the *fire batteries. They are not only PCB protected, they are not high drain.

Oh, BTW, don't worry about that guy in Fl. He was stacking 2 batteries to increase his voltage. The kind of thing that happened to him is darn near impossible if you use a single protected or IMR battery in a device with electronic safety features like the Lavatube. It's just that the lavatube is too short to use most all protected batteries, so you need to stick with IMRs or the Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries. They are made with a different chemistry that is far less likely to vent or explode or anything. And, with one battery, your chances of that happening are much lower in the first place.
