But in reality, when the call happens, most of those readers will probably never know.

I suspect if you listed the average ages of those viewers in ascending order from youngest to oldest, the list would look exactly the same. I've done my best to raise young adults who are politically literate and aware, but a lot of them just aren't, and there's not much you can do about it. A good portion of them won't start caring until they're personally affected.

Personally....I look at some of the posts in the FDA Regs forum...but I haven't read all of it. To hard to know who knows what they're talking about and who doesn't. And for the most part what I tend to believe is true, I agree w/Kodiak..it's just too depressing.

While it probably is not true for everyone on ECF, I'm just waiting to see what actions CASAA wants vapers to take, and pursuing fun things to buy/read/share while the gettings still good.

Someone suggested that the yellow banner have CTAs on it in a conf. call a couple months ago. I think that helped.

I'm sure we'll see something prominent up there once CASAA is ready.

I still feel that there's a lot of misinformation floating around. The FDA did a good job on that score by sprinkling a few (meaningless) reassuring words in the PDF, and throwing in the 2-year window. CASAA's press release makes the point, but in terms that aren't nec'ly obvious to the casual reader.

Once they get a CTA out, maybe we should all revise our sigs and get something really eye-catching in there. And then start posting like mad in the noob areas.

I have to admit that I for one also check in several times throughout the day. Unfortunately most of what I see in the main thread is a couple of people griping back and forth trying to get the last word about who is right and who is wrong.

So no I am not in that thread all the time but I do in fact check it a LOT to see if there is anything worth reading and new in there.

This is exactly how they foster the public apathy they need, by projecting an image of pragmatism and tolerance while laying the groundwork for the entire industry to be co-opted by Big Tobacco and ultimately destroyed.

When the proposal 1st came out & the Reg Forum opened up, within a couple days I commented in a long-running thread (which discusses my favorite juice-maker) in the E-Liquid forum, about how the proposal might affect the juice-maker & its customers, and provided a link to the FDA Reg forum..

Got a couple "likes" & a reply or two..


Figured it wouldn't hurt, anyway...

I think it was my 1st post here in the Reg forum, something to the implied effect of: Is the FDA doing this just to publicly placate us into thinking that we actually have a say in it -- even though we really don't?


Reminds me of a former employer whose HR dept developed a performance review system where every employee was required to answer a series of questions 2-3 times a year concerning their performance & development, which they claimed would help employees to be "given a voice"... you know, when it came to all of our subsequent lousy pay-raises which were already pre-determined...

DC that's a bit of a swipe, don'tcha think?

For the sake of my own sanity I read in the FDA forum for a bit, push back from the table and throw up, and revisit after I have regained my composure. There is a lot of wouldacouldacan'twon'tdidn'tmaybesortakinda going on in there, with limited practical purpose or application of strategy right now being suggested. Obsessing for the sake of making "forum points" by bloating up those threads with, well, hyperbole while offering little in ideas for practical recourse ain't helping. Reading it all sure isn't changing anything.

More doing points, far less chatting in circles.

I've been viewing it, and I'd say the amount of information is monumental to a layperson.There is so much information being presented all at once and very few positives.

If this were to be viewed as a game, judging by all the laws being past, its a very one sided game which no one is going to be willing to partake.
