Hi guys, I need to finally buy myself one of these and Im not sure if this is a good choice. Ive been recommended 'Volt' Ecigs by a number of people on these forums but there are still so many options. Im buying from a US site and firsly Im worried about the charging as it says 'USB CHarger' or 'EU USB CHarger'.... I thought all USB Chargers are the same? I know plug sockets are different. This is what I Think IM going for but will it work in UK perfectly well? Also im not sure what flavours to get and what part of it is the battery? Is it the .... of the cigarette of the long 'white smokeable' part? Thanks.

edit: sorry this is the 1 Im getting: http://smokelessimage.com/starter-kits/voltpro.html?options=cart

The Volt is probably about the best cigarette style 808 out there, and Smokeless Image is a quality vendor.
What they mean about the usb charger is the attachment for the wall plug-in. It comes with a USB cable that you can either plug into your computer or you can plug it into a wall adaptor. The wall adaptor is different in Europe than it is in the USA so you have to get the right one.

Sorry, I won't be much help to you on the Volt, as I got out of cigarette look-a-like e-cigs after my first Metro e-cig. I have heard that the Volt is one of the better look-a-likes, but better to wait for someone more knowledgeable to come along on that.

I think that the USB question is referring the wall wart that the USB charger plugs into. This allows you to charge the Volt without plugging into the PC. The plug for EU would be different from the US plug.

The battery is the long part and the cartomizer is the short part that you inhale on. The cartomizer holds your e-liquid and the atomizer that vaporizes the liquid.

Flavor is so subjective so I will not give advice on it. I went through over 20 flavors to find my favorite. I recommend for you to get at least 3 different kinds so that you can get a taste of what you might like. I love butterscotch, RY4, strawberry, mango, banana and a few others:)

Hello & welcome Satch :)

IMHO, you would do better to buy an e-cig from one of the many good UK suppliers - if you order from the states, you may have to pay customs tax. here is a list of good UK suppliers -

ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK - Recommended & new suppliers (e-cig/juice sellers)

And here is a real simple beginners guide with pics helping you know the names of the parts -

Just to add, I don't think anyone sells "The Volt" in the UK, but I think it's a KR808D, but I'm sure our American friends here will be able to say if I'm right or wrong :D

Yes it is a KR808-D, but has some advantages over your run of the mill KR808.
They use sealed, regulated batteries and have a battery with a higher mah rating than most 808's.
This amoung other things seperate the Volt from most of the other's out there.

Thanks for that info Harplay :)

The KR808-D has never, for some unknown reason, been that popular here in the UK. So not many suppliers even sell a standard KR808-D nor accessories for them.

Satch, the problem with most ciggie lookalikes is that the battery life sucks - ie only last a couple of hours before needing to be recharged. On the other hand, get something cigar sized like a Riva 1100mAh, & it will last most folks all day before it needs to be recharged.

What NGTB and Chrissie said. My cigarette look-a-like lasted me 4 days before I found myself on ECF and ordered an e-power 14650. Today, I would recommend the eGo Twist over the e-power for its versatility and price. Can't beat a true variable voltage device for less than $30 (not sure how much they are in the UK, but I would suspect it to be close to the same).

Whatever gets you off the real things, however, will be the right choice for you....just trying to save you a few bucks on the way...

I think I just had deja vu, I was told the same exact thing when I started, but I still needed to learn for myself:)

here you go Satch, if you really want a ciggie lookalike at a good price from a Uk supplier, have a look at this (use discount code hut10 for 10% off) -

http://vapourhut.com/e-cigarette kit/vh-starter

It has the same thread as the Volt, so you will be limited what you can use on it, as NGIB says, without getting an adapter. The batteries are 290mAh, so not bad for a mini, but once again, like any mini, the lower mAh will also limit what can be used with it.
