Is this a good deal or would I be disappointed?

Hi.

I've been reading all the info you folks have so generously provided here in the ICF and I appreciate it all! The more I read, though, the more confused I get because it all sounds great.

A local vape shop has an EGO/EVOD 900 kit for $50. The only thing else I would need to buy right away is juice, I think. I'm on a very limited budget at the moment. If I buy this will I be getting a good deal or will I be disappointed? I want to buy local so I can start using it right away instead of waiting for delivery of an online purchase.

This is what is in the kit:

Up to 1400 puffs each charging time.
300 charging time cycle.
Clearomizer hold up to 600 puffs.
Replacable coil.
2xBattery 900mah
1xUSB Charger
1xWall Charger
2xClearomizer/evod
1xNeedle bottle
1xgift Box

For a local (brick and mortar) purchase, the price isn't half bad. You can do better online, of course, but I get that you want to start immediately.

I might, as you get going, think about laying in some backup batteries. When they go, it's a good idea to have one ready to replace it.

(I say this having...wow...seven lying around at the moment. Four get used, three are backup)

Square deal, is pretty much the going rate.

Evod's are ok to start with. Know enogh fellow vapers who get along just fine with them and have no desire to upgrade.

If you find that you aren't really into vaping ( it does happen ) , then 50 bucks aren't too muc of an expense compared to some of the hi-end gear. If it get to like it, feel free to upgrade. Desires only held in check by disposable income :)

Happy vapin' :)

I have seen them go for 10-20 bucks less online. If you really really cant wait then buy it but if you can wait a week id say order online. Goodluck :)

I'm vaping Mistic right now, have been for about 3 months. The replacement cartridges are pretty expensive even though cheaper than what I was spending on nasties which I don't miss at all now. It's okay but want better and less expensive overall. If I can find it that much less online it will be worth waiting.

Looks much better than the kit I started with for $40. And since it is a local shop hopefully you can sample juice there and find a flavor and nic strength that makes you happy. Have the vape shop show you the ropes on getting it running.

Definitely sounds like a Winning situation.

I started on Mistic, and it was nice, and I figured out how to refill mine (sneaky, sneaky!) But I started back using analogs. GRODY! I recently bought an Innokin "beginner" eGo kit, from Mt. Baker, and I LOVE IT. It was around 30-40$, if I recall correctly. If you want to get some juice and refill the Mistics until an online order arrives, that may be a good option. I am all about saving money, that is one reason analogs had to go!

I can't figure out how to get the cap off.

I can't figure out how to get the cap off.

I watched a video on youtube by Matthew Olmstead, Mistic Ecig Review

This video (and Matthew in general) helped me A TON when I was first trying to understand the world of e-digs. Basically, an icepick or a (sturdy) paperclip inserted into the hole, just pry the cap off, and there will be a silicon O-ring in the top, take that out (don't lose it) and drip your juice in the cotton around the sides of the cartomizer. Be careful not to get juice in the middle hole. When the cotton is saturated, put the O-ring and cap on, and blow from the bottom connection through the cartomizer out of the mouth piece to get any excess juice out. Then just take a cotton swab and clean the connection and you are good to go! Hope this helps!

I found that an eyeglass screwdriver, the kind you get in the little cheap kit at the grocery store, worked better. It's flat, so it doesn't tend to warp or break the little plastic caps nearly as much. And unlike an icepick, it's not sharp so my clumsy fingers didn't get poked.
