Hello Everyone,
Just wondering....Did you try PVs because of you or because of someone or some other reason...? Wondering, because a lot of people seem to say
that the "family" or "co-workers" like them doing the PV thing...For me, it was only for me....Not my family, not my job, and yes, not even for my dog....I wanted to continue to enjoy the feeling of "smoking" without the
bull.... that went with it...and I am doing that...vaping is Great....
Just wondering...and Enjoy,
Later,
PaulCincy...

I did it because after damn near 40 years of smoking. Going to bed wheezing . Waking up and hacking up so bad I'd puke and damn near bring up a lung. It was all for me. Hell, my children are adults now. My wife passed away years ago. And I told my in-laws that if they can't speak English in my country. Maybe they need to go back to where they came from. The only opinion that matters to me is mine. I have to shave this face in the morning. No one else.

I smoked for over 25 years. The fact is, I never wanted to quit. My wife always wanted me to, but never really pushed me about it. I have twin girls, and they were close to turning 17 when they decided to gang up on me and guilt me into quitting. Needless to say, it worked. But I knew I could never just quit smoking. I had heard a little about e-cigs on the internet, so I decided to do some research, which led me here. The rest is history.

My cardiologist always says I have to stop smoking cause of my heart disease, one heart attack is enough I guess, but to be honest, it seemed interesting to me more because I like gadgets and such, that's what will keep me doing it more than concern for my health. Never been too concerned what otter people think, if I do it, only because I like it.

I didn't want to pay high prices, if the prices weren't as high then I would be smoking still. I don't buy a lot of stuff for it, just what I need, some atomizers a couple batteries and some liquid. I made a mod which has cut out the battery expense so now I'm saving even more money. I should have saved the money that I would have from not smoking. Having that banner depresses me that I could have saved that much already! Sometimes I want to take it down.
I'm now starting to put some money away but not quite the amount I'm actually saving.

Definitely me. I have no children, no dependents. Even without the threat of cigarette spurred shortening, I figure I've got maybe a couple decades left in this life. I don't want to spend them lugging around an oxygen bottle. And, there's a huge change for the better on my horizon ... I want to stick around and enjoy it for a while. :)

I made the switch because I always wanted to get away from cigs for myself. What pushed me to PV's was the tax increase on loose tobacco. I started stuffing my own about 10 years ago when cigs in NY hit $3/pack. when the loose tobacco tax hit, I started looking online for cheaper places to get it and one site had an ad for e-cigs. Research led me here and then to my 510 purchase.

I am now thankful for that tax hike.

Did it:

Because I developed a constant smokers cough

Cost: I live in NY and it's almost $10 a pack now

And because my life revolved around cigarettes - I would base a lot of my decisions on whether I would be able to smoke or not and if not how long would I have to go without smoking.

But in the end it really was ALL ABOUT ME. Before I decided to give e-cigs another try I was going to go and get my ear zapped (it has worked for a lot of people my friends and family knows) but I just didn't think it was realistic for me so I decided instead of wasting the money on that ($235) that money would be better invested in buying the top of the line e-cig equipment (Prodigy & V4L 808's - both of which I use with cartos)

My family was quite disappointed with my decision but I don't care . . . my sister was actually shocked by my decision and asked incredulously: Don't you WANT to stop smoking? And I said: No, I really don't.

Non-smokers just can't understand that.

I hope someday I can totally quit analogs (still smoke 6-8 a day down from 30+) and will be able to stop chain vaping but if/when that happens it will be because that's what I want - not what my family, friends and society want.

I won't let the smoke/nic Nazi's win
