is this all I need to get?

I'm new to the party and i'm thinking of getting this: Joyetech Joye eGo-C Twist Variable Voltage 1000mAh Battery because everyone have been raving about the ego twists.
It's priced at $24.99 and i'm not sure if that is all I need. Is there something else I need to buy on top of to work? Is this just the battery as the title says? What else would I need to get and what would you recommend?

This IS just the battery. Most buy this ala carte as a replacement. I recommend getting 2. It sucks to have a dead battery w/o a replacement. You will also need a charger to charge your batt. Some e-liquids are needed (called juice here). I cannot recommend any juice as everyone likes different flavors. I have gotten a few from MVS and like them. You also need something to put the juice in, called a delivery system. The standard starter is clearomizers or cartomizers. These are easy to fill and CHEAP! I recommend the Kanger T3 or Evod. These are $6-$7 and replacement coils (bottoms) are cheap. I started with a CE4 clearomizer and was not impressed. I have gotten the SMOK XXL round tip cartomizer and loved it (for 2 days), then they fizzle out and die.
Search Baditude. He has a terrific blog that shows the different delivery systems.
Ask away with questions. I'm not that experianced, but will help any way possible. There are so many great people on this forum that will do the same.

That looks like a pretty solid setup, you shouldn't need a syringe to fill a T3 as most bottles you're going to find have some type of dropper or dripper already attached or inside. The MVS bottles look like they'll work fine: High Caliber US Made eLiquid E Cigarette

Edit: In addition some juice you should order a few replacement heads for your T3, Atomizer Head for Kanger T3 eGo Bottom Coil Clearomizer

Sounds like a good start. I wish there were kangers when I started 3 years ago. There are also tons of videos on youtube covering gear, juice, tips and tricks etc. If you can't find answers here youtube is a good place to look.
