Is this bad?

Hey all,
I built a .5 ohm dual micro coil today in my tugboat and its working pretty well but my atty and the top of my mod keep getting pretty hot just after one or two pulls. Is this bad? I checked for shorts and there aren't any. Thought this was kind of weird though so does anyone have experience with a problem like this?

How long of a draw are you taking? How often are you vaping? Lower ohm builds typically need more cool down time between draws to reduce heat buildup in the atty. Coils too close to the deck and/or sidewalls also cause the atty to heat up faster.

Im usually taking like 3-5 second pulls Id say. I usually build around .3-.4ohms which doesnt really heat up my atty but I guess with that I'm also taking like 1-2 second pulls. I just thought it was weird that a higher resistance build was making my atty way hotter

Pics or it isn't a problem. Can we see a top down pic of your build?

The other question is: Did you change anything much about this build regarding your coil position relative to your air holes? If it's hot and vapor production seems a little on the low side too you may need to adjust the coil position on this one.

Yes it certainly sounds odd; something else must be different;

Your build looks pretty good. Once again, residual heat is NORMAL. Make sure you have your air holes lined up directly in front of your coils. As long as the switch or your mod isnt so hot that its burning your hand and most of the heat you are feeling is coming from the atty/top cap you should be fine. Now this is to say that it is getting hot after a vape session. If it gets instantly hot when you fire it one time from being cool, then something is wrong.
