Is this battery indent normal?

If what you son was using is a safety fuse, then it is designed to fit via magnet to the negative (-) end of the battery (see above).


However, if what your son was using is a Kick module, then it is designed to lay on the positive (+) end of the battery (see below).

The first fuse is what he has. He wasn't using it in the mod tho. Only when charging - well, until I started searching around and found it belongs in the mod. This is his first. So, learning by trial and error.

A quick update: I bought him the Sony battery yesterday (6/19). And we safely disposed of the old one. All is right in his world again.

I have a k100 and it has done that to 3 of my batteries, I still use them and have had no issues, but I check them periodically while in use.

I'm glad that you haven't had problems with yours. He started to peel back the wrapping, thinking he'd see something weird. Then thought better of it. Following the advice of those here at ECF, who know way more about this stuff than either of us, I replaced it.

Yeah. He won't do it again and is being more careful.
