I have found that you can extend the life of a coil and remove part of this browning by soaking it in vinegar for 5-10 minutes. My usual routine is:
Dryburn
Rinse
Dryburn
Soak in Vinegar for 5-10min
Rinse
Dryburn
Wick
I've managed to keep a coil shiny for around 3-4 weeks like this, but eventually they dull. Further, some coils are just bound and determined to get dingy looking after a few days no matter what I do. Perhaps it depends on the juice being vaped as well.
I should note that having done this on protank and smoktech ARO heads for over a year, and an rda for a good bit now, I'm fairly confident in my results, but I am far from experienced with a large range of equipment, and so I could be very wrong.
