If you notice on the right side of the positive side of my battery there's a little bit of discoloration or what looks like a slight scratch. Going over it with my nail and I can't feel any indention whatsoever. It's a new battery but the others I purchased don't have something like that and this is the first time I am using a device that requires batteries.

Reuleaux RX200 at probably 80 watts/.3 ohms max for right now until I get a new tank. I was just watching videos and reading up on it and it mentioned that if anything is off you should probably chuck it and I wasn't sure if that was considered a dent or not and what could even cause that appearance in the first place... any ideas?

I got three total batteries and I am noticing that this particular one is the one charging the fastest as well so I thought to ask to get some second opinions...

Even considering that I bought it "brand new"? And noticed it before even putting it on the charger?
Let me re-phrase:
I wouldn't give a second thought to using it. :)

It will probably settle down after a few discharge/charge cycles

It looks good from here. Number one thing to look for is dents/bulging or collapsed contacts. Torn wraps are another huge concern. Your battery looks fine from what I can see. What device are you planning on running it in?

Is what you meant by collapsed contacts by how far it's raised up? I noticed on this particular battery that the positive contact sits in the battery like 1mm or so more than the other two. When looking at them all side by side from the side you can see the rim of two of them but not at all on this one... Im trying to be safe as possible and it worries me when this battery is different visually from the other two.

When mentioning collapsed contacts, I was looking for the nipple being smashed in. Small scratches are of no concern. You will notice scuffing and scratching over time just from pulling the battery in and out of the mod.

This battery is 2.5 years old. Notice the scuffing on the positive and negative contacts:

One nipple definitely sits in lower than the other two... does that qualify as being smashed in? One is flush with the top of the battery and the other two are raised up slightly. I'm just wondering if this will cause a loose connection or something like that??

Charging faster? How much faster? What chargers?
Did you buy them from the same place?

Intellicharger i4... hard to say how much faster. The second slot said it finished then i switched it to another slot to be sure and it was still charging... they all finished up within 10 to 20 minutes within each other after that. Bought everything from the same place. I will probably just overnight some from one of the places mentioned on this site as being reputable just to be sure. Can never be too cautious about this kind of stuff...

all finish up within 10 to 20 min sounds to me to be all the same.
