Is this guy inhaling?

In this video, it looks like this guy is inhaling, but the vapor is coming out so thick & white, that I don't know. If I take a drag & exhale, I can get this color & thickness out of my vape, but if I inhale, the vapor is nowhere near that thick or white.... or that much. What do y'all think?

& RiP Trippers, if you're here, thanks for all the videos.

Maybe it's me, but...what video? Neither a link nor a video is showing up for me.

A lot of vapers seem to develop a "partial inhale" method--I have. I pull it in just enough to jet it out of my nose in a white plume.

Since the lungs aren't particularly good at absorbing the vapor, it seems like over time we train ourselves out of a deep inhale.

I can't see the video since I'm at work, but if it's Rip, I guarantee he inhales. He does lung inhales, which means he inhales directly from the drip tip using the airflow. You probably mouth-to-lung inhale which is what most people do. You suck the vapor in, and then inhale it into your lungs.

I do both. On my drippers, since I have loads of airflow, I lung inhale. I get the thick, dense clouds that you see in his videos. When I mouth-to-lung, I get a thinner, less dense, exhale.

Thats a lung inhale.. I used to like Rip Tripper but here lately he acts like he has lost his mind!

Absolutely. Rip was my go-to when it came to learning rebuilding. He's turned into a bad wannabe comedian and it comes off as annoying. If he continued to just show tutorials and reviews without the "SICK AS T*TS!!!!!!" he screams all the time, I would have continued to watch his videos lmao.

looks pretty typical to me. In videos if the vapor is blown toward the camera it looks like a lot more than what there really is. Plain ol' glycerine is used sometimes by people making these videos and that makes huge dense vapor clouds. It just may be the pg/vg mix the guy has. imo it's his mix(whatever that may be) that is generating the big vapor
Looks like a lung inhale to me.

Now I see the vid! It does look like a lung inhale.

Keep in mind, very high VG liquids will produce a ton of fog (I use 50/50 myself so tend to produce a fair amount).

Some cameras are also particularly good (or bad, manufacturer dependent) on picking up the vapor. Their sensitivity isn't the same as the human eye and they see reflected light out of the visual spectrum very well. Photos or videos of produced vapor may not match what a human standing in the same position would see.

A few key points were already touched, but I'll reiterate.

Rip mentions in many of his vids, and admits, that his huge clouds are due to high VG or 100% VG ratio juices.

Also, the fog always looks massive when blown directly at the camera. That's why in some of his, and others' vids, they'll turn a bit so you can see the whole cloud, not just what was blown towards the lens blocking out everything else.

it's lighting and camera sensitivity. what's in that vid is a respectable, modest vape. nothing clouds about it. that can easily be produced on an ego. for "clouds" on camera, you want to see texture and lots of it. you want to see the vapor expand and still have plenty of texture as it expands for it to be a cloud. i was curious myself, so i took a few photos to get an idea of how the camera perceives the vapor. i am by no means a "cloud chaser". heck, i vape @ 36mg/ml. this is with my daily driver...

i assure you, this was by no means a "cloud". though, it was more vapor than you're going to get with a kanger protank.

Say what?

The following "cloud" is from a Smoktech ARO with a 2.1ohm micro coil, cotton wick, at only 7 watts on an iTaste SVD. Oh and this was a mouth to lung inhale.

Please excuse the newb question, but what difference would the tank make? If I've got a VV or VW mod, isn't the final wattage all that really matters?

lol
you're not the only one to experiment with microcoils and cotton on a clearo. i want to see some definition and precipitate in that "cloud" before you attempt to call me out. ;)

it's not all about wattage.

though, the "cloud" in question was made at over 15 that most VV/VW mods are capable of.

the protank simply does not perform like an RDA set up correctly. said "cloud" was made using an RDA drilled out to 5/64" with 26Ga kanthal contact coils at 0.8Ω. well above and beyond a build capable of fitting in a protank head. just more coil to wick contact than one could shove in there. believe me, i've tried.

ADDIT: that was also only the beginning of that exhale. Jimi D. is my hero. :D

To each his own. I love his videos and find them very informative and he explains stuff easy enough for me to understand. I'm old, what do it know? He reminds me of a young Ray Stevens. Only my age group would probably remember him but he was hilarious. Of course I never heard him say the things Rip says. heehee :D

rip trippers is the man! he said he rebuilt the coils so its probably a little lower resistance, probably higher wattage than youre using and probably has a very high vg blend. and i skipped through the video but maybe he drilled bigger air holes which air flow is like 50% of your production.

just look at what hes doing in this. this is my fav coil to date.
