Recently bought a Red Oak Sample Pack... tried the Tennessee Cured first, loved it. Tried Valencia next, smelled really great, very fragrant... filled a 2ohm carto, waited awhile to let the carto saturate completely, tried it at 4.8V on my Puck... some taste/flavor, but very, very, very little vapor, none to speak of really. Tried it on my 3.7V box mod with same result. Tried it on my VV box mod with same result. The carto was full by the way, no burning at all.

Waited overnight then repeated trial on all mods listed above same result. Since this was a brand new carto and thinking it might be bad, repeated trial process using a reliable clearomizer on all mods, with same results. juice is supposed to be 100% VG. It appears very thin, much more so than my VG juices from AVE and VV.

Did I get juice mixed without the VG, ie., only nic and flavorings? Got lots of vapor from the TC I tried first, and the JC website says that Valencia is a heavy vapor juice, in fact on their sliding graph charts, it is shown to produce more vapor than the TC.

Been vaping since November 2011, and haven't experienced anything like this before.

I just pulled out my samplers...forgot I had them lol. I tried my valencia in a 1.8 306 atty at around 3.5v...the vapor production is on par with the 100% pg ry4 I have in a stardust but not quite the same as 100% vg I have in one of my boges. It does behave oddly tho...when vaping it side by side with another "100%" vg juice, the other juice, in this case Boba's, is flavorful and nice and cool on the tongue. Valencia, on the other hand, feels like I just set my pv to 6v on a low res atty and managed to not pop the coil. Yuck. Very hot, almost alcohol-y vape, so back in the storage box. But, it does give me vapor like a 100% pg...just very hot at the same wattage as a true 100% vg or pg and the flavor is somewhat muted. I think they must put some pga or other stuff to thin it out and whatever that is just kills it for me. I agree with you too...their red oak stuff acts just as thin and viscous as their original pg stuff. I may try putting a bit of Ms T's sweetener in it this weekend to see if maybe I can salvage it tho.

Glad to hear the Domestic is working out better for you! JC's samplers were the first two, besides Halo's, that I picked up with my ego kit a couple months back. At the time, my taste and smell were still borked up pretty good from the analogs so I just shelved it all. The only one out of the bunch I actually liked and could vape was the Spiced Apple Cider on the Originals side. Think I'm going to leave the cap off the Valencia tonight...perhaps if there's any alcohol in it then it will evaporate overnight. Now that I can actually taste/smell the orange in it, it might be alright if the alcohol-like taste went away. And, if that works, I may be revisiting the whole line up again this weekend. :)

I liked the valencia but only in small quantities lol - could not vape a lot of it or make it an all day vape - but it was certainly an interesting and different taste. I do not recall getting lots of vapor from this juice. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think that the PG and VG lines of Johnson Creek are MOSTLY PG and MOSTLY VG, not 100% of either. I am pretty sure that valencia is more vg than pg but NOT 100% vg, and that none of the red oak juices are 100% vg from what I heard in the past....

I remember valencia as being an orange vape with spices. I could only vape a ml or 2 of it at a time then had to put it away for awhile.

I had the exact same experience, to the degree that I wrote the company about it thinking, "surely there's something wrong here":

To Whom it may Concern,

I purchased the Red Oak Sample Pack, and received it today. I believe there is a problem with the first juice I tried, Valencia.

After loading into a fresh Boge carto, I was unable to get the juice to produce vapor. The crackling atty sound was there, the heat was there, as well as a slight orange essence, but no vapor. Perhaps an ingredient is missing? Please advise.

I received the following response:

Thank you so much for the email! I am so sorry to hear you are not enjoying the Smoke Juice you ordered! I assure you that our Smoke Juice goes through a very rigorous quality assurance and quality control process. This description sounds like it may be due to an overfilled cartomizer as over filled cartomizers will crackle, reduce or eliminate vapor production and flavor. Our Smoke Juice was designed and manufactured to work in all e-smoking devices, however you may find that some flavors work better than others with your specific hardware. The viscosity will vary between our flavors and Valencia is our thinest Smoke Juice. I hope this helps a little bit but if you have tried the other flavors and find you are not satisfied, do know that our return policy is such that if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase within 60 days of receiving it, we'll take it back. That's it. We cover the shipping, and we offer exchanges, store credit, or full refunds. We want you to know that we are that confident in our product, and that we are committed to you, our customer. So do let us know what you would like us to do, and we shall do our best to accommodate. Thanks again for the email, and we'll be in touch soon!

The juice was a little better in an atomizer, but simply not to my taste. I passed it around my office and the response was unanimous among my vaping co-workers.

Hope this helps.

I have been ordering JC liquids, and know people that order them (non-menthol) for years and they take a specialized pallet. There are two exceptions and both are really good juices. Red OAK Tennesse Cured, and Red Oak Swiss Dark, are excellent imho. I have tried a few others myself and they are nothing special (Domestic, Vanilla, JC TC). The PG based line does not have good vapor production imho.
