Is this new, or am I just to lame to have noticed?

I never noticed this until I had already read another thread about what all of the abbreviations were. I spent a lot of time figuring out what OP, PV, etc. was. Then I saw it when it was brought up a few weeks ago. It's a neat feature! Love it!

Yeah, Firefox... but I have it set not to show them cuz its annoying, but my IE still shows them

I posted this on 2 different dates and that could be where some have seen this from previous postings. I actually use spell check on hotmail then cut copy and past it back here to post I thought it screwed up my post once and kept it underlined is how I noticed it.

+1 for this - I'd like to be able to include this in the instructions thread in the new members forum. (is it in about:config somewhere?)

Also, if it can be turned off in IE, that would be good to know.

I just posted a reply to another thread and noticed that when I abbriviated the word was underlined with a dotted line. If I put my mouse over the abbreviation, it tells me what it means. For example the word atty vg or pg. put you mouse over it and it will say attomizer or whatever.

Maybe it has always been there and I was just too dense to notice

well heck, i guess the old saying is true that you learn some thing new everyday as ive just learned some thing new?

Could be. Out of interest, do you see the "alt" text when you hover over images?

Yeah this is a really useful feature that is in the most forums. Really can help users identify the abbreviations quickly and efficiently.
