Hi guys and girls,

A little BG info. Im 28 and smoked since i was 15. I have never been a heavey smoker. I would say around 10 a day on average everyday. I could go a good few hours between smokes. My nicotine tollerance was low, but I have the worst will power ever. I never liked the smell/taste of smoking and as the years have gone on, find myself the only one out of many friends that still smokes.

So moving on, I bought/invested in a ecigg from liberro. The mini version. I outright stopped smoking and just started with the mini. My experiences have been all but very negative and im not sure why or if its normal.

Here is what I have experienced:

1) The actual vapour I find quite harsh, OR non existent. Im a big guy and pull quite hard for a big hit. (i generally smoke a cig in 5-6 tugs). I find if i do this with the ecig, it just down right hurts. If i dont i feel nothing at all. Its been 4-5 days now, and the HIT still doesnt feel nice at all. Ive tried two "juices"

2) I find that because im not "finishing" a smoke, that im not satisfied. Its almost does nothing for me.

3) I dont feel healthy! Infact i felt better smoking than I do vaping! My chest hurts and feels tight. I still get flem, yes its not as thick but its still there, and lastly my teeth HURT?! I feel my gums are inflamed, and my teeth generally feel quite achey all over, more so after vaping?! I never had any real health implications (that i could FEEL) while smoking?! Im quite healthy and active otherwise and do 6 hours of cario a week.

4) Im still craving smokes every day, even after vaping!? It doesnt fix me.

5) I dont feel fresh in the mornings. When i quit for 3 weeks once, it was noticable after 2 days i felt fresh in the mornings, tastes changed etc...its been a few days now, and other than negative side effects, i might as well be smoking.

Is there something wrong with me? Is this what we go through adapting? I dont understand why I feel worse vaping than I did smoking...

help?

What kind of ecig did you get? a 510, 901? It could be you just have a crappy unit. you can get a 510 battery, 510 atty and 5 carts shipped for $19.98 shipped from MadVapes.com. It might work better for you and get you that Throat Hit you like and a better sensation of smoking to feel like you've satisfied that urge to smoke. you can order a bottle of juice from http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...rum/94181-backwoods-brew-ordering-thread.html and give it some time after trying the 510 before you make a decision on whether vaping is for you or not. PM me if you have anymore questions.

I started with a Blu e-cig which is a mini model. It was total crap. Sounds like the problems you are having are related to your e-cig model, not vaping itself. Headaches for the first few days may be normal as your body adjusted to vaping. Also breathing and other benefits might not show up for a couple of weeks. You spent years smoking and your body will take time to recover. If you're not getting the vapor you need, start with a 510 kit. If you still need more vapor, try a $15 USB passthrough device. I get tons of vapor with very little draw. Most of all, don't give up. I have heard too many stories of people who tried e-cigs only to give up because of a crappy preforming mini! Good luck.

I may be just guessing, but what kind of mix is in your ejuice (PG or VG or some sort of mix). PG (propylene glycol) gives the throat hit of an ejuice and some people are allergic to it (which may be your case). You might try an ejuice that is pure VG (vegetable glycol) which is the part of the mix responsible for amount of vapor. I really can't say whether this is the problem you are experiencing or not, but it may be worth looking into. Also a lot of people experience some sort of withdrawal symptoms when switching, which could also contribute to the feelings you are feeling. Just some thoughts, hope it helps.

i just started last night and yeah, the juice i have (from StrictlyEjuice) is harsh
and very difficult inhale unlike regular cigs. It's my first day, maybe i need more
time to adjust. Ordered some juices from BWB...

I am new too so 90% of what I am about to say comes from others and 10% from my experience.

1. I found taking soft long puffs produce a much better result. I suck into my mouth and the inhale rather then inhale to the lungs.

2. This is just part of a lifestyle change. You have been having analogs for nearly 15 years. That 'finished' feeling is a learned trait. It will become an unlearned trait over time.

3. There are many changes that will go on in your body as analog cigs damage is purged and regular body functions come back. It will take time for the adjustments. And as some pointed out, the type of juice can effect you; PG vs VG.

My first unit was from 7/11. It was ok but I knew I needed a better unit so I got the 510. It is great.

Hello Blundey, sounds like you've got a lot going on there. The hurting teeth. Smoking cuts down your blood flow, when you stop it returns and thats when the aches start. It isn't the vaping, its the quiting smoking thats doing it. Same as
the flem, thats generally your body recovering from smoking, your kicking all the crap out of you system.

Liberro is a decent seller but just in-case the PG doesnt fully agree with you,try Intellicig liquid. It might not be so 'harsh'.

Have a look around,it's surprising what symptoms you'll get just because you quit smoking they're not because you started vaping.

Nice to see you fellow UK'er :)

Be aware too that your throat is still raw and inflamed from smoking, and if you a big tugger like I was it can be a little rough at first. I would normally point first at your gear, but don't forget you could be sensitive to PG. A good vaping device changes everything. The liquids you have are probably 18mg at most which is WAAAAAYYYY to low for me. I vape a 36mg liquid mostly.
Also, as to your teeth hurting, gums inflamed, that's because you're drawing with your mouth way to hard. There is a lot more resistance in draw on an ecig as opposed to an analog. I know you think you have to drag like that to get the big hit your looking for, I did too. Really it's all about getting the right gear. What you have works for some people, but doesn't seem like it's going to work for you. I would recomend an ego/riva at the least or possibly even a silver bullet or omega. You are probably going to need a LR atty on a 3.7 or higher battery to get what I think you are looking for. Just MHO

What strength is the juice?
Is it the stuff that came WITH the unit? (if so they usually aren't very good, betetr to get your own and refill - if you can't refill because the unit won't let you then you need a better unit)
Is the unit an auto? (autos require more work, I prefer manuals lol)
Are you drinking lots more fluids? (you must keep your throat moist)

Thank you for the replys! The unit isnt that bad in itself. It certainly does the job in the fact if i want a big hit i get one. Its in 3 parts and the cartridges are refillable etc... i dont think the unit is to blame. Although the part about sucking hard may have something to do with the sore teeth ??

Some great points made, although last time when i stopped smoking for almost 3 months, I didnt get sore gums/teeth or tight chest etc.... SO i find it strange im getting it this time if its not for the vaping.

Im using a PG type fluid, and whilst ive never been allergic to anything in my life, im not sure this is the case...although I certainly wont rule it out.

Maybe im just being pathetic? I was hoping for a cleaner replacement for smoking, and im a little dissapointed, not with the unit, but just the overall experience. Ie feeling worse, not getting the fix my body craves etc...

Ill perserve for another week and report back on any changes. I dont know if this is at all related and I didnt want to mention it in my first post, but part of one of my back teeth actually cracked off yesterday, which scared the crap out of me. Because not only am i feeling sore gums/teeth and tight chest etc...but it seemed a scary coincidense! :S Anyone else felt sore gums/teeth?!

help?

1) Don't smoke it like a cigarette. An even inhale, no need to try and hot box it.
2) Up your nic strength, when the craving goes away, you're finished.
3) You're body is detoxing from the 4000+ chemicals you've been inhaling. Relax, it goes away. You'll also get some pretty wild and very fun dreams during the next couple of weeks.
4) refer to #2
5) Shower? Douche? I don't know about that one. I've got to take a shower in the morning just to wake up after I've had my first cup of coffee.

Still smoking and vaping might be the reason, but, keep at it. Visit the ECF Archives too. Newbies find that practically all their questions have already been answered there.

I'm going to guess you have an automatic battery instead of a manual.

Harshness generally comes from the juice.
But you will also get a very harsh hit if your atomizer is too dry.

If it's the juice, you might try some more different ones.
Or you might look into using juices with more VG and less PG in them.

As far as the hits where you get nothing, it's probably the automatic battery.
You really should try a manual battery, which work consistently because you control it yourself.

2) I find that because im not "finishing" a smoke, that im not satisfied. Its almost does nothing for me.
Could be too many drags where you're getting nothing.
And maybe a bunch of harsh drags that you aren't really getting much because it's too dry.

Or it could be that you need to up the nicotine strength.
But 18mg is usually a pretty good level for someone that only smokes 10 cigarettes per day.

But you never know for sure until you try something different.
One thing is for sure, we are all different when it comes to nicotine strength.

4) Im still craving smokes every day, even after vaping!? It doesnt fix me.
See answers to (3) above.

Automatic batteries often take some practice to get them working good.

Stand in front of a mirror and watch the LED as you take drags.
You want to see how hard you need to draw on it to get that LED lit.
And you want to see how hard you need to draw on it to keep it lit as long as possible.

For some automatic batteries your only choice is to do consecutive short drags.
And it is often said that a quick short initial draw (primer puff) followed by a real drag will work well.

Most people recommend slower, longer draws.
I recommend getting a manual battery.
:)

speaking of attys... I've been vaping a 510 for maybe 3 weeks now. started with a crap vapormate I ordered from the raido ad (DONT DO IT) then got a pure smoke, I love the wicking atty design its just very inconsistant quality one atty doesnt heat up enough, another gets way too hot and burns the juice. needless to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 510. ive tried a few cart mods ptb, straw, and now spring. my question is.... it seems once my atty heats up vapor production starts to suffer i have to set it down for a few mins then great flavor and vapor hit again. is this a normal issue? and is anyone else familular with the puresmoke atty? the design/theroy is great just poor quality

That's not your atty getting hot that's cutting vapor production, it's you're vaping faster than the wick can transfer fluid from the cart filler. I bet your chain vaping.
