I got my cartos today!! They are the CCV LR 1.7. I used the condom method to fill. I put it on my Ego and it's making very loud cracking noise. The vapor is also warm (which freaked me out at first!) Is this normal??

You got very low resistance cartos so yes you bought hot cartos.
Crackling is fine, preferred even. means it's got plenty of fluid but not too much, is vaporizing well, has good wicking
Gurgling on the other hand could mean too much liquid.

Did you try blowing out the juice from the battery end. They might be flooded? Other than that, everything you have mentioned is normal. The cracking noise should stop, once they are broken in a lil bit.

Id really recommend using the syringe that Andrew sends with the cartos to fill them. It is a lot easier and will ensure they are filled fully. Its super quick and really easy with no mess
It's going to take some adjusting to get used to this. I was so used to my atty/cart and the way I had to drag off of that. I put this cartomizer on and about choked to death the first couple of drags! I am still not used to it! LOL
Another thing to try is the clear cartos - you can use different methods to fill and really see what's going on in the carto, then you'll have a much better idea when you go to fill the black or stainless ones. I ended up sticking to the syringe method.
Chess, everything you've said has been my experience, too. I recently tried a smok Tech mega dual coil (about 1.6 ohm I believe) on my eGo and it snaps, crackles and pops like an amplified bowl of Rice Crispies. The first hit nearly took my breath away. It just takes a little moderation and some time to get used to. I like this setup since it allows me to get a similar amount of vape and TH as a standard carto with a shorter drag.
Thank god I am not the only one! I took the first hit and coughed for about 10 minutes!!! I am used to dragging on it like I would with a regular atty/cart. I hope the LOUD crackling goes away maybe after they are broken in? Kind of makes vaping inconspicuously kind of hard! LOL
Yes...gotta love the snap, crackle, pop they make. Awesome cartomizers. I use 2 of them on my double headed dragon...what a buzz I can get off that beast. Happy vaping to ya.
i just got mine yesterday. Did the same thing. I think they need to break in. Things are AWSOME!
I've had my eGo since Wednesday, and have been using the same dual coil carto on my 510 since monday and same one eGo since then, and it still does it, not as loud, but I still get that 'happy fart' when I top it off heheh

Those are the only cartos I currently use in my tank...even on my 4.8 volt mod. Now that will blow your mind.
Soon that crackle will be your favorite sound in the world. And you'll never go back to standard-resistance attys.
