Hey all! I recieved my first kGo in the mail today and immediately cracked it open and started using it. I love it so far. Feels great and produces good vapor. With my kit i also ordered a 50ml bottle of Dekang menthol juice and a 5 pack of 1.7 Single coil XL cartomizers. Ive also got a sampler pack of juice coming from Halo and some Ressurector cartos from CCV.

My question is what is the best way to fill my cartos? The bottle i have comes with a non removeable top so i have to drip into the carto. How do i know when the carto is full? What happens if i want to use a different juice in the same carto, is there a way to clean the carto???

Thanks for input!

Congrats on getting your KGO. There are a few ways to fill your carto. The first being the drip method which is what I use and the condom method. Which use the little plastic caps that the carto comes in.

Drip method:

1. Drip alongside of the filler material in 5 drop intervals. Letting it sit for a minute or so until you've reached 45 drops.
2. You will know it's full since there will be some drops that come out of the connection end of the carto.
3. Use a paper towel and wipe off the access juice on the bottom.
4. Let it sit for 20 minutes until the juice has fully seeped into the filler material.
5. Your done.

Condom method:

1. Take the longer end of the two plastic caps (condoms) and fill it with 45 drops or 1.5ml of juice.
2. Using the connection end of the carto. SLOWLY plunge it down the cap with the juice it in. Allowing time for the juice to seep throughout the carto.
3. Once you get to the bottom of the cap. Give a few more drops on top of the carto to ensure it is fully saturated.
4. Take it out of the plastic cape and wipe it down with a paper towel. Any access juice can be put back into the bottle. I'm sure the bottle has a removable top since I've never seen a vendor that didn't have one.
5. Allow 20-30 minutes for it to be ready.
6. VAPE!!

If you wanna put a different flavor in the carto. Then that's going to mix with the juice that's already in there. Also, there is a way to clean the carto. All you have to do is boil it. Then rinse it out and repeat the process until the carto doesn't have a weird smell to it anymore.

Thanks for the answers man! I kind of just filled two cartos to what i thought was best and have been vaping on the first carto pretty steadily for the last 6 hours with no problems! I havent had a simgle cigarette in 6 hours and it feels good! LOVING my new PV. I was trying to use a syringe to fill up 1.5ml and then shoot it in from the end where you put your lips but couldnt figure out how to get the top off the bottle.

How will i know when a cartomizer has gone bad and i need new ones?

The draw on the carto will get really stiff...think of sucking a McDonald's milkshake through a straw...well not that bad but close enough. When it does that, toss it. Other thing it will do is quit firing. If you move the post down a tad and it still won't fire, it's dead.

What is a post? Lol

How long do cartos typically last? Ive seen some vapers use the same cartos for months?

She's right. The performance will get bad and also, if you ever get a burnt taste out of it. Toss it immediately, it means that the diaper (piece of cotton wrapped around the coil) and/or filler material is burnt.

Cartos typically last around 4-5 days for me. Yes, some vapers do get a few months out of their cartos if they're extremely lucky. In most cases, you should get around a week or so depending on how it performs and maintenance. Just remember that they are made to be disposable. Getting around a week for a dollar and some change is well worth it in the end.

Anyways, no problem. I enjoy helping out as much as I can.

If the juice that you want to change to is a similar type, say going from a tobacco flavor to another type of tobacco flavor, just refill the carto with the new one. In a short time the new flavor will take over. If you want a totally different flavor, use a new cartomizer. They are fairly inexpensive. I have maybe 8 or 10 filled with different juices that I rotate through. Yes, label them in some fashion. A Sharpie or Dymo label maker works. Some people use a rubber band and "lash" the carto with like juice to the bottle. Others use colored dots. Cleaning a carto is hit or miss IMHO. I don't bother to do that.

I hate using different flavors in one carto. These are suppose to be disposable so I just keep one flavor in each one until they don't work up to my expectations.

And don't run them so low as you increase the chance of getting a burnt taste. Once that happens it's done. Just add drops to the top every few hours, depending on how much you're using them.

I usually top off 4 different ones (4 different flavors) each night and they last all the next day. I was keeping them in my pocket with the condoms on them until I had gotten extra batteries. Now each battery has it's own carto on it and I just switch them when I want a different flavor.

I keep all 4, plus chargers, in a large ego carry case.

The condom method works okay on the smaller cartos, ie Boges, but really doesnt work as well for the bigger cartos, like the ones you got. The Smoktech 1.7ohm and the Ressurectors are actually the same carto. CCV just nicknamed them the Ressurectors. Either way they will hit like a beast on your kGo. I use the Ressurectors on an E-Power.
Ive filled cartos every way possible. I find using a syringe for the bigger cartos is by far the quickest and easiest. It takes all the guesswork out of filling and will ensure they are filled right. When your Ressurectors come in, you will get a fee syringe with them. That syringe is the one I use to fill all my cartos and it is perfect for filling. Run some water through it after you fill and you can use it over and over. Ive been using the same syringe for almost 4 months. All the markings wore off a long time ago, but I know exactly how much it takes to fill one now so I dont need the marking anymore. If you want the markings to stay on longer(prob better to help you learn) I would put a piece of clear tape over them the first day you get it. That will stop them from waring off so easily.

I originally posted this awhile back for someone that asked how to fill the Ressurectors, but really this is for all cartos. Just instead of putting 2ml of juice in the syringe that the Ressurectors hold, put the amount that whatever carto you are using holds. If you dont know then just put extra and fill slowly. If you watch the top of the polyfill you will see the juice come to the top of the polyfill. Once the top looks "slushy" it is filled completely. Heres the copy & paste.
(This is for your Ressurectors and the Smoktech 1.7ohm cartos, since their the same thing)

How to fill a cartomizer with a syringe:

"All you have to do is take the dropper part of the bottle off your juice and fill your syringe with 2ml for a new carto. Take the rubber tip off the carto and carefully insert the needle down the side pushing against the metal. DO NOT go thru the filler because it will move it and you could potentially break a connection and your carto. Slide the needle down the side and go all the way to the bottom. Then slowly start dispensing some juice. Dont dispense it all bc then it won't be evenly distributed. Put alittle in, then take it out and insert the needle in a different spot. I normally do it in 3 spots (in a triangle) I found it distributes the best, but you could just do it in 2, on opposite sides. Make sure the needle is at the bOttom bc then you will not have to wait at all for it to settle. Disperse slowly and you will begin to see the toP of the filler become slushy. It is full then, don't put more. If its a new carto is will def hold 2ml, if your refilling it won't take a lot so pay attention and once it gets alittle slushy stop. While your filling hold a napkin or something under the carto bc if you do it too fast a few drops will come out the battery end. If that happens its only bc you did it too fast and the poly fill didn't absorb quick enough.( that happens to me bc I am impatient and fill it in about 10 sec, so I just hold a paper towel or napkin underneath.) wipe up the drops and put the rubber cap back on the carto. Then put the carto between your hands and rub back and forth spinning the carto quickly. This will insure the liquid is evenly distributed in case you put too much on one side from the syringe.
Now you have a perfectly filled ressurector that is ready to be used right away!"

Follow this and I think youll realize how easy it actually is. Most people catch on very quickly. Filling cartos correctly def helps them to last longer. I get avg 2-4 weeks with one Ressurector.

I know you said you cant get the dropper top off the bottle. I would first see if you can stick the needle in the dropper hole. Some bottles Ive gotten can fit the needle thru without affecting it. If it doesnt fit I would prob cut it to make alittle hole so then you can stick a needle in. Even better would be to just buy a few 30ml empty bottles. They you can put all the juice in them and be able to take of the top easily if needed and also still drip fill to top it off if needed. That would be better than having a bottle with a cut hole in the top bc it would spill if it fell over. I think getting a few empty bottls is def the best way to go. Their cheap and many vendors have them. Even just one 10ml bottle or something would work. Then you could keep refilling it from the bigger bottle. Thats what I do. I have a 180ml bottle of a juice that doesnt even have a dropper top. I just use a syringe and keep transfering it to a 10ml bottle. When that bottle gets low, fill it again. Then you can easily pop the top on and off and also take the 10ml bottle with you if needed bc they fit in your pocket.
Let me know if you have anymore questions
Hope this helps, Goodluck!

Yeah they do suprisingly hold quite a bit of liquid. They actually hold alittle bit over 2ml of juice, but 2ml will just about fully fill them.
What PG/VG ratio is the juice your using?

All cartos need to be kept wet so they dont burn, but LR cartos especially have to be kept wet bc they will burn even easier if they get dry.

Thats why I really think a syringe is the best way to fill bc it takes absolutely all the guesswork out of filling.
I would at least use a syringe for the first fill, then if your juice isnt really thick, its easy to just drip fill some just to top it off. Thats what I do and it works well. I never let them get below about halfway full bc then it only takes alittle to top them off and then drip filling works well. If you let it get real low though I think its easier to just use a syringe and completely fill it again. I know its hard to tell right now, but after youve used them for alittle, youll know when they should be topped off. I normally top one off when the top of the filler starts to turn white again. At that point its still prob about half full, but it just makes it easier to top off. And then you never have to worry about burning one bc it got dry.

I only use one juice per carto and never put another juice in one. I just find it easier to keep putting the same juice in bc then you dont have to worry about trying to clean them.

I buy all my cartos from CCV. Their prices are good and the free shipping is def nice when your just ordering some cartos. When they are backed up with orders it can take a few extra days to get to you, but its really not that bad. Personally I think people make a much bigger deal out of it then it really is. You shouldnt wait till your on your last carto to order more anyway. I order more when I only have one 5-pack left. Then if it takes an extra day or two it doesnt matter bc you still have 3-4 left that will hold you over till your order comes in.
I also like CCV bc they guarantee all cartos. Most vendors only have a DOA warranty. Ive bought prob at least 20 5-packs of Ressurectors from CCV and have never gotten 1 DOA. I did about a month ago get a 5-pack that had 2 cartos that didnt wick properly. They were fully filled but for some reason they were acting like they were dry. It obviously wasnt CCVs fault and was just a manufacturing dud, but I called Andrew and let him know. I didnt even ask for a replacement and the next day I got an email that he sent me another 5-pack for free. I thought that was really awesome. He doesnt even make you send the defecive ones back, which is really cool actually. Alot of vendors are willing to give a replacement on something, but you first have to spend more money to send it back to them, just to get a replacement. Thats what I liked about CCV, he is willing to replace a carto if theres a problem, even after a few days of use, and doesnt ask questions or make you return the defective ones. Andrew really cares and just wants to keep his customers happy, and that makes him a quality vendor in my book.

If you like those cartos I would def buy 15-packs. You get them for alittle cheaper when you buy 15 and you also get a syringe and a free drip tip when you order 15. Its a good way to collect a few drip tips since your getting them for free. I just order a different color that I dont already have every time, then put a different colored drip tip on each carto you are using at the same time. I find thats a really easy way to tell what flavor is in each carto. Lately Ive been vaping 3 different juices alot. I know that the carto with the blue swirled drip tip is my coffee vape, the sold dark blue drip tip is my tobacco juice, and the green drip tip is my sweet flavor vape. Everyone has their own method, but I find doing it this way works really well for me.
