all pins are made of brass nickel plated. From now on all the pins will be stainless, including button's pin too and axis of the venting cap
that pin is my ggts connector pin...
am quite disappointed, because the performance isn't as durable now...
got to clean it very often..

Just remove the rest of plating.

Indeed,thuis is why we switch to brass springs everywhere possible
Replacement pins are $20;begs the question though:what could wear one out like that?

+++++++++10 on that - brass is great, take off rest of plating and will probably hit even harder. Just need to clean it more often as brass tarnishes quick

It def should hit better without it.
Now If we could get connector pins made from silver, the hit would probably knock yer socks off.
It is higher than even copper.

And a +++++++++++++++ 20 on that. Silver is best of all - just expensive.
Order a small silver plating kit online and do it yourself. Plate it in Sterling though as .999 would be too soft and come off easily.

Does tarnished brass conduct better than nickel plate ?
Polished brass is probably better than tarnished but I'm thinking brass in any state is probably better than nickel plate.
I ask because if tarnished brass is better that nickel plated I might strip my pin.
What do you guys/gals think ?

tarnished brass has no good contactivity k3. Tarnish is a layer that protects brass from further tarnishing and dont let brass rust. This layer is non contuctive
