I would not vape or smoke around any infant, and am reluctant to do so around children. Vaping is unquestionably healthier than smoking, but the exhaled vapor does contain nicotine, and nicotine is extremely addictive.

I wouldn't go so far as to go outside, but I wouldn't vape in the same room with an infant.

Welcome to ECF! One, babies don't vape. Your header sure caught my attention though. LOL Two, there is no "smoke" in vaping. The substance is "vapor." Third, who knows? We don't even know if its safe for ourselves but what we do highly suspect is its safer than what's in smoke based on our experience, personal health improvement and the absence of the chemicals/tar contained in smoke. Given that, I can only say its not something I would risk in close proximity to a baby but then I wouldn't use air freshener or hairspray close to one either and would actually consider those more harmful to itty bitty lungs. I think that's just common sense really.

When you consider that second hand smoke wasn't found to be harmful for kids around it (yes, you were lied to), probably not.

http://jnci.oxfordjournals.org/content/90/19/1440.full.pdf

This is the WHO's own study that they claimed was reason to start all the second hand smoke scare.
Conclusions:
Our results indicate no association
between childhood exposure to ETS and lung cancer risk.
We did find weak evidence of a dose–response relationship
between risk of lung cancer and exposure to spousal and
workplace ETS. There was no detectable risk after cessation
of exposure.

No nicotine isn't extremly addictive. No more than caffeine.

However i wouldn't vape around kids anyway. It feels wrong. And yes the second hand vapour will contain just a tiny bit of nicotine, about the same as a tomato or aubergini.

Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind much more addictive than your normal "cuppa"

No it's not. That's yet another lie told by Tobacco Control.

Nicotine outside of smoke (i.e., patches, gum, ecigs) is not that addictive if at all.

I'd love to see your source on this. I believe you are overstating it greatly. Especially pure nicotine, not nicotine in cigarettes with 4,000 other chemicals to make it more addictive.

Sorry, but that's a widely-believed fallacy. Studies that have looked specifically at nicotine have concluded it's not all that addictive.

Studies that have looked at cigarettes, on the other hand have found that they are very addictive. And the assumption that "it's the nicotine" is the basis for the legend that nicotine is highly addictive.

Cigarettes contain a number of different components that are psychoactively and/or biologically impacting the body of a smoker. In combination they are very addictive. Nicotine alone, much much less so.

Make sure you don't bake any cakes, cupcakes, or desserts when your baby is around. Think of the second hand flavorings in your recipes. (Being sarcastic, sorry!)

Did you know that pg is used in baby medicine flavoring dispensed by your pharmacy to make it more palatable for babies? Eye drops, humidifiers,...

The amount of nicotine inhaled through vaping by a vaper is a fraction of the amount of nicotine in the liquid. Dr. Farsalinos Konstantinos, the Drexel/Burstyn study, etc., have proven that second hand vapor does not contain any danger of second hand exposure to nicotine.

All of the other ingredients in the ejuice are substances used in many daily and mundane products that not only are inhaled, but ingested by babies/children.

But, you are the one responsible for raising your baby/child, so you get to make the decisions.
