Well it's 4000 less chemicals, a percentage of which are carcinogens.

I think all of the stuff in ecigs is in cigs. Glycerins, water, flavorings, nicotine. Some flavorings may not be safe for vaping - ones with diacetyl which is a custard flavoring used by some flavoring manufacturers. Some eliquids made with particular flavorings contain very small amounts of diacetyl. But I believe there is some diacetyl in cigs too.

No, it's not completely harmless, nothing is, including breathing which most of us will want to do no matter what the risk. It is a better alternative and that's easily found by comparing ingredients...or lack there of in comparison. Physically I don't have to have anyone to tell me I breath, sleep, overall feel better and I mysense of smell and taste has been revived.

Cooper,

My lungs have improved dramatically! I have emphysema from smoking for 30 years and it would feel like someone was sitting on my chest and wouldn't let me breathe at night!

That hasn't happened since October- when I quit! I can lay down now without any breathlessness. I haven't coughed since October. I haven't gotten a cold since Oct and everyone around me has been sick. I used to have to clear my throat constantly and that ended in Oct too! I used to hear a wheeze in my chest when I would breathe in deeply and that is 100% gone.

This works like a miracle and thus far, there have been no bad side effects. And let me tell you...I vape 6 times more than I smoked LOL!

I've only been vaping for about a week, but as someone who has tried to quit smoking too many times, I can tell you this is comparable. Good and bad. I feel better, smell better, breathe better. Unfortunately, since it's still very early in my attempt to get off of analogs, I go through bouts of extreme restlessness to extreme sleepiness, and never at opportune times. Got a 30 page paper due for a history class and can't concentrate, and having some muscle cramps. All these are symptoms I've had with NRT and cold turkey attempts at quitting, so really, can it be any worse? I can say one thing for sure, I haven't had one single urge for an analog. That's something that did not happen when I used NRTs or tried to quit cold turkey.

It's kind of a no-brainer that it's worlds better than smoking cigarettes. Is it completely safe? No. Breathing just air would be optimal. However, it's an amazing substitute for smoking for those who can't or won't just quit. Unlike most NRT's, you'll come to prefer it over a cigarette. Even though most of what we say could be viewed as purely anecdotal, some have been vaping for 2-3 years and have had no ill effects. I am almost at two years. We're proof. I'm glad to hear you're liking your Riva. Congratulations on escaping the cigarette demon. Yes, at times it does seem to good to be true. I had given up that I would ever find a way to quit that wouldn't result in the rest of my life feeling miserably deprived. And then they invented vaping.
