I agree DC2. I think a lot of people don't know much about microbes and human existence. There is an interesting TEDx lecture given on the subject of 'Are We Too Clean?' by Claire M. Fraser. Here's what is said about her:

"Claire M. Fraser, PhD, is a world-renowned scientist who launched a new field of study – microbial genomics and, through her ground-breaking research and pioneering leadership in this field, has fundamentally changed our understanding of the diversity and evolution of microbial life on Earth."

A couple of highlights for me:

A little after 2:00 in the video; there are about 10 times the number of microbial cells in the human body than human cells. They weigh in at between 3-5 pounds and would almost fill a gallon jug. Without them we would die.

A bit after 14:50; Talk about the 'ick' factor, she talks about fecal transplant to restore human GI microbes that were decimated from antibiotic use.

Here's the video:

I'm not worried about microbes on my drip tip even if I never clean it. A dirty drip tip is 'cleaner' than my mouth is 99% of the time.

Now, I'm not saying it's a good idea to go out and play in animal droppings or to eat uncooked chicken, but IMO our society is too clean today and I feel no desire to join in. It's unhealthy :)

Back a couple of decades ago, when my skin doctor told me we were bathing too much, I went ballistic. Now my skin and hair are far better, and come think some people still bathe every single day!

Right on the money -- and all those antibacterial things people use on their hands, that's a disaster just waiting for sufficient microbes to build up resistance, in order to wipe US out.

Bacteria do us far more good than harm -- without bacteria, you couldn't get over a viral infection... or even digest your food!

It doesnt matter what the tip is made of, the crusty gunk will build up over time.

This why we wash dishes and dont re-use condoms. Keep vaping gear clean on daily basis is part of your daily hygiene routine.

I agree...hygiene isn't about germs, actually. It's about good habits and self respect.

I don't sterilize things....I let my immune system do the work it was designed to do. I've laid my vape gear down on surfaces, etc. Not talking about that kind of stuff.

I'm not talking about being dirty from a day at work or something. I've just seen more than my share of YouTube videos where someone is demonstrating vape products, holding them in filthy hands or (male) fingernails that are really long with visible dirt underneath. It's just gross, that's all. I would not let somebody showcase my products like that.

If somebody's toothbrush looks filthy, and their vape gear is that way, too......I just want to avoid them.

ever since i started using these ptfe/teflon driptips i never get those crust anymore. always happened daily when i used metal driptips though. I just went and bought like 30 ptfe/teflon driptips off fasttech and they work wonders and looks so clean and bright white, like someone said before they look so clean its like staring into the osmonds pearly whites whenever you look at it lol,

comparison, left is the teflon one pictured above, and on the right is a white delrin one. The teflon one looks like someone took super medical strength whitening toothpaste to it, and the delrin one looks like enamel wearing off on transparent teeth lol
