Hello,

so I sampled about 8 different juices so far (still only my first week of vaping). Somehow, and this was not something I expected, halo's belgian cocoa is by FAR my favorite. I never was a huge fan of chocolate in general, but this juice just tastes great to me. I can pretty much vape it all day, occasionally switching for some variety.

I started with a factory sealed T3S. Filled with some BC, feel in love instantly with how it tasted. Vaped non stop, refiled the tank twice. When the 3rd refil was about half empty, I got this one drag with a strong burnt taste. checked the tank, found no leaks, blew some air thru the mouthpiece, dried the connection and cleaned mouthpiece. Tested it and it still had a nasty burnt taste. Removed head, washed it, dried it, tried again. Still burnt. Grabbed brand new head, tried again. STILL burnt. gave up and went to sleep.

So today I was out of ideas, but I still have about half a tank inside that T3S worth of belgian cocoa. I'm hoping I don't have to waste it. But I was missing it like crazy so I grabbed a brand new EVOD BCC, the belgian's juice bottle and filled it up. First few drags were again amazing, tasted exactly like it did before. Then, about half an hour later, I decided to crank the voltage up just a little. Switched from the passthru EGO to the twist, started at pretty low voltage, I was around only 3.4-3.5v, and had another hit with the burnt taste.

What could I be doing wrong? I can't get rid of the taste. seems like once I get ONE burnt hit, the rest of the juice in the tank is pretty much ruined. Is there anything I can do that would restore it to normal, or any suggestions of what might be causing it?

Probably wrote tons of useless detail already so I will stop rambling and try to answer any questions that might come up as best as I can. please help me fix this!

thanks!!

I have discovered many surprises in vaping: flavors that I don't like as foods I do like as juice, flavors I do like as foods that I don't particularly care for as juice. :)

FWIW, I change my coils every time I refill the tank. I put in a new or recently cleaned one and put the used one in a dish of cheap vodka for several hours. (Other folks use cheap pure grain alcohol or just water.)

Grabbed brand new head, tried again. STILL burnt.
Did you give the wick time to saturate with juice? Do you have a variable voltage or variable wattage device that may have accidentally changed? Was the new coil a different resistance than the previous one?

If the juice doesn't wick fast enough for the power level you're running, the little juice that is on the coil burns.

its just about gotten to the point for me that any chocolate flavor is my kryptonite. tastes great to start , smooth as a babies ..... then about halfway through the tank that smooth as a babies .... vape turns into nasty as a babies diaper, but for some reason i keep buying them hoping that the next one won't do it. take madqatters advice , clean the heads, and vape on a low voltage or wattage.

Yeah, some juices gunk up coils much faster than others. :(

thanks so much for all the feedback, I really appreciate it!! Can you tell I am hooked on this juice? :/

I feel the same way and I have been blown away by this. At first lots of the e-juice flavors didn't sound appealing at all, "lemonade??? really? you do sell tobacco tasting juices? right?". But after trying my first few juices, some of the flavors that sounded awful at first, now sound very interesting and I can't wait to try them.

FWIW, I change my coils every time I refill the tank. I put in a new or recently cleaned one and put the used one in a dish of cheap vodka for several hours. (Other folks use cheap pure grain alcohol or just water.)

I thought it was ok to use the same coil for two or three refills without maintenance. I will definitely try this out.

that's what I don't get. both times, it happened well after one hour of vaping. tasting great, tasting great, tasting great..all of the sudden... burnt. then forever burnt taste that won't go away, regardless of using a new head. Today I learned about dragging without using the button to help keep the wicks saturated, seems to give great results.

I had it on an ego twist, I was somewhat sleepy but I really do believe it was well under 3.5v, maybe I spun it by accident but I doubt it. Maybe the ego dumped too many volts? is that even possible? I'm pretty sure that battery I was using is a cheap clone, are they known for huge jumps in voltage for no good reason? I now have 2 new ones that seem to be original, but it's hard to be sure of it.

and yes, the coils had the same resistance (so says the box, I'm still getting my Fluke back to life to I can check it myself)

If the juice doesn't wick fast enough for the power level you're running, the little juice that is on the coil burns.

this is my main concern. is it normal for burnt taste to "spread" to the remaining juice in the tank and completely overpower the taste ..forever? if one messes up and does ONE burnt hit? juice in tank = wasted?

I wish it would behave like Tribecca behaves for me. Consistent taste and vapor production, probably my second favorite at the moment.

In my experience, this juice doesn't seem to hold up to heat very well - color changes, thickness, etc. I don't vape this juice often, though, so my suggestion would be to post your question in the Halo forum - might get some good advice there!

Halo

You mean...outside?!! I'm not ready, I am still a new member!!

I kid.. I'll def give it a try, thank you for the advice.

I have about 15 new flavors arriving on monday. my new favorite could be somewhere inside that box..! and in the end it will probably be something that gunks up even worse lol

thanks again for all the help!!

I'm sure that with some juices you can, but I don't even try. It's easy enough to juice throw the used one in some vodka and put a new one in the tank, and mine last a long time when I clean them regularly this way. :)

I have not had this problem. On the other hand, I'm not trying to use this particular juice, either. Maybe the folks on the Halo forum can help, or some Halo fans here will come by this thread. :)

Or maybe your favorite will be a beautiful clear liquid that never seems to burn at the settings you enjoy! ;)

Here's hoping!
