Hi all,

I'm about 1 month into vaping, and my experience has been up and down. Started getting better when I ditched the CE4's that my Ego kit came with and purchased a Kanger Pro tank mini. Soooo much better.

However, now I am starting to have issues with it. I started using it this past Friday evening with a brand new coil (2.2 ohm, whatever that means!). Today, I noticed it was putting out less flavor and less vapor, and didn't have quite the "pull" that it's been usually giving me.

It is leaking a very small amount of liquid onto the battery. I even changed the coil and I'm getting the same results. Less pull, less vapor, less flavor.

I expected it to perform longer than just a few days. Any ideas on what the issue could be? I don't think I'm screwing anything on too tight...but how do I know?

I appreciate any help

SJ:confused:

With the mini it shouldn't matter how tightly you screw on the tank. One thing to do is check to see the air holes aren't plugged--but they probably are not.

Do you have a variable voltage device? I've found that each of my protanks and minis require their own settings. Go too high and you'll gunk up your tank, especially with high vg juices which burns the juice and mutes the flavor even if they don't taste burnt. Go too low and you'll get very little vapor, flavor.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you need to let a fresh coil or freshly cleaned coil sit for a bit. If you fire it up right away, the juice hasn't had any time to absorb into the wick.

Thanks for the advice. Since I'm a new vaper (been doing it a month) I realize that you have to learn to fiddle with this stuff to get it the way you want it. I do not have a variable voltage device...using Ego-T's. And all my juices are 80% PG. I like the PG better...more VG seems to make me cough for some reason.

Anywho...I realize there are 1 or 2 juices that do not work well in my protank and my pro tank mini. So I'm just not using those juices. NO biggie. I've been a happy vaper lately, and once I got it tweaked and figured out the way I want it, I love my protank mini. I want to buy another one. Bought a Kanger EVOD and it's just not doing the job, but perhaps I need to spend more time with that one and get to know it better.

Another user on here quoted "You don't just start vaping, you have to LEARN to vape". Makes sense.

Thanks for your advice!

Hi!

When I hear reports of leaking my first question would be: Did you get the right type of replacement coils? If you got the T3s/MT3s coils by mistake, they will screw in to your PT mini or Evod base, but they don't fit right where it matters - where the shaped bottom of the coil assembly and o-rings fit the base. If you are having a serious amount of leaking and a change in how it draws that may explain the problem.

If you do have the right coils for a PT and Evod you do need to make sure the coil is tightly screwed into the base. They do need to be firmly screwed on to make sure those 'lil white o-rings you see are making a good seal to the base. (Not talking about how tight you put the assembled PT mini or Evod onto your battery - that you only screw onto your battery finger tight.)

As far as the performance goes: When you are using fixed voltage batteries the only thing you can change is the resistance of the device to tweak performance. You do need to know what that "2.2" means! Lower resistance coils will get hotter, faster compared to your 2.2 ohm coils at the same fixed voltage. If you aren't getting the vapor and flavor you are looking for with a 2.2 ohm coil you need to go lower in resistance to fix that. 1.8 ohm is the lowest pre-made Kanger coil, but you would notice a difference changing to even the 2.0 ohm coils.

Hi there! Thanks for the advice. I'm still a little foggy on coils, but am having success with 2.2 and 2.5 ohms. When I say it is leaking, I mean just barely a drop here or there. I went to my local vape store and they told me that minimal liquid on the batter is a common occurrence and to clean off the battery often.

All my stuff is screwed on tightly....I'm in a happy vape place for right now. :)
