So my sister wants to get into vaping and I wanted to get her a mod as a gift. It's between a istick or Kbox cause I'm cheap as ...., and they're both pretty decent mods. I was wondering which one would you guys recommend? I know the Kbox doesn't go below .5 ohms but I doubt she'd subohm cause I was going to get a Kanger Subtank Mini to throw on the mod.

If you are looking to get her a Mini Subtank then I would consider going with a Mini KBox Starter Kit.

I believe I read the Kbox does not have a USB charging port (would require a charger) and can only adjust watts in 5 watt increments.

Some of the older stock iStick 50 watts have problems. I have two that periodically autofire without pushing the button. I have to take the the tank off when they are not within hands reach to keep this from happening.

I would recommend the Kanger Subox over either of those. The iStick 50W on the surface looks like a good mod but there has been a fair amount of negative feedback with auto-fire issues and bad/failed batteries. The KBox is a decent enough mod but I would prefer the Subox over it simply because it has an easy to read display screen and I believe it's actually a starter kit that comes with a Subtank. It does need an 18650 battery. I would recommend an AW IMR or Sony VT5 and a good charger, probably a Nitecore.

If you don't need 50 watts, why not get the iStick 30w? Paired with a Nautilus mini, it's a great system for around $50. Spring loaded center pin, goes down to .4 ohms, vape while charging, built in battery.

The current KBox mini (Subox) has a fixed center pin like the KBox. There is an improved version due soon with a spring loaded pin.
