Hi all,
First post. I've just started vaping last Monday. I bought a 75W Eleaf Pico w/ Milo 3 minitank. Last night I was getting a weird flavor so I decided to try my hand and rebuild that nautilus type coil. Well needless to say it didn't go too well. I ended up braking the glass. Not good. I was ....... I even told my bro to pick up a pack of American Spirits. (a week vaping and I thought I was done with analogs) but hey an addict needs his fix. I smoke a few but strangely enough they taste like .... after 5 days of vaping. I come to realize how much cleaner vaping is over analogs . Anyway I call a couple of nearby vape shops and ask the shopkeepers if they got glass for the Melo 3 mini. They don't. Seeing how I need my nic fix and I can't wait 5 days to get a replacement via mail, I decide to bite the bullet and go to the shop to pick up a different tank. The clerk hands me a Aspire Triton 2. Not a bad vape, pretty darn good. .5 coil 40 watts or so. Much better than the Melo. I take a few puffs and ask him to let me see the Cleito, same juice but a .3 coil. I try a few different temp ranges and settle on 60 Watts. Wow! So this is vaping! Next to the mini which is a bit hot at 60 Watts with the flavor there but muted. Now I know its probably not a fair comparison due to the different coil resistance but let me tell you. The .... blew me away. I found the vape much more airy, simple yet more nuanced next to the Triton. Even though I found the Triton 2 very good, the Cleito was the better vape. Next to the Mini at .3 ohms, there was no comparison. I'm vaping the .... right now and still love it. So if anyone is on the fence and wants a kick ... tank for the melo 75 Watt mini. Atlantis Cleito is solid.

lol this dude sounds just like me. same damn set up. same previous brand of cigs.

question - does your tank get hot, especially with the melo stock coils? or in general?

and which between the cleito and triton 2 has a more dense vape? (I'd be getting higher ohm coils anyway, but they all fit the Melo and are backwards compatible with each other I believe)

Yeah on the melo my sweet spot was around 35 watts, anything above and the drip tip would get a bit warm chain vaping. The cleito even at 50 watts is much better. I thought the density of the vape from Triton 2 was similar to the Cleito but I found the Cleito's draw much more open and the flavor more nuanced. My recommendation is find yourself a good vape shop and try different tanks, then you'll know which one suits your vape style. The smoke shop I went to the guy knew his craft. After I decided on the Cleito I asked him what's his regular everyday tank and he said that was it (Cleito) but like I said best thing to do if you have access to a vape shop, see for yourself. Hope that helps. Happy vaping.

try different tanks? I mean most shops don't do that you know right? I suppose one could ask, but that's a rarity and time-consuming. I COULD do that, but guess what pal - I JUST ordered a Triton 2 lol. Which I was going to probably do all along.

Reason #1 - unlike your Cleito (I'm pretty sure) I can use Ccell AND Triton coils (which means I can share the coils between the Melo if I feel like that as a back up).

Reason #2 - Cleito is ONLY sub-ohm. Triton can use sub ohm and MTL coils as well. I'm not big into sub ohm.

It's cool you found your schtick, just realize it's not what everyone's looking for, since you assumed I'm a sub ohm guy. Triton 2's got really good reviews too, leak free to boot.

Maybe down the line I'd give the Cleito a try, and the Nautilus X while we're at it, but I'm content with the Triton 2 as my main tank.

Anyway, just to make sure - you were saying that you experienced a hot tank with the Melo as well, regardless of the coils right? And were you saying you found that with the Triton ALSO?
(I'd find that hard to believe, but I'd like your input nonetheless).

Yeah the interchangable coils iare a plus. I only tried the .3 coil on the mini and it does get a bit warm but nothing to worry about. I didn't notice much warmth from the Triton but I didn't exactly sit there and chain vape it all day. I'm sure you'll love the Triton, it vapes very well. Another reason I bought the Cleito is the RTA deck is a pleasure to work with from what I've read if you're into saving some $ and rebuilding your own coils. There is a rebuildable coil for the melo but the thing is real tiny. A good vape shop should have plenty of tanks for customers to try out. Just pop in your own drip tip and smoke away.

lol methinks you've simply found a laid back kind? most don't even have them charged up, they're simply for display purposes. it would be cool IF you could do that, but I also would be leery of just popping in my drip tip from a contaminated source. think on that for a sec. what goes in must come out.

anyway, yeah the interch. coils is why I went with the triton. mini for 0 nic at night, triton's bigger so that'll be my main tank.

and now of course more problems though - vapeshop.com claiming their halo/evo line has no exp. dates on them. LOL. ..... I called halo and they laughed that off. so either this company is mistaken or fraudulent. and I just spent like 100$ with them too.

appreciate the feedback.

yeah there's a lot of fakes in the vaping world. I also ordered an Avocado 24 from China a few days back. Site says its genuine Avocado but we'll see. Also ordered the 4ml melo tank, 2ml chain vaping goes way to fast on the mini. It's all personal preference of course.

yeah I hate sub ohm, but if you like it it's what it is. whatever works you know.

yeah man, chain vaping on that POS tank eats up juice like crazy. it's a good sub-ohm tank, anti-leak, but it's so bleh. it's not an advanced tank at all, not compared to the triton I just got. I broke it down to SIX parts. pretty craftsmanship. they really created a masterpiece. I will give melo props for being a solid, adequate back-up tank though.

I like it better than my naut mini b/c it provides good clouds...but man I love that naut tip.

I've used the Cleito since it was released and totally agree. I've tried lots of tanks but always stuck with the Cleito, an the rest go in a drawer... until switching to the Atlantis EVO a couple several weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, I still have a couple Cleitos going, but I'm preferring it right now. Part of me always missed the Triton Clapton .5, so had to give the EVO a try when it came out, especially with 2ml or 4ml glass options. It will run old Atlantis or Triton coils too - and the cCells for that matter. In fact I'm running a .5 Triton in one and an Eleaf EC Notch in another right now. But my EVO coils should be in the mail today. My main point is... Great choice - and good luck and stick with it.

someone likes the pico. lol. I should take a picture of mine with the triton. tried using the naut mini tip with it but not good for sub-ohming, causes overheating.

Ha, yeah I do. Post it!! Triton coils, Cleito coils and now the EVO coils. Everyone has their own preferences, but those three are at the top for me, and I have a drawer stuff with other tanks and unused coils.
