between here and there
Which istick is it? The one that has an internal battery? Or the higher wattage ones that take external batteries?

May be time to get a backup mod anyway. Always good to have something else to use so you are not tempted to go back to cigarettes.

I think you would really like the eleaf pico. It is the same company that makes the istick but it takes external batteries and you can charge them outside of the mod with a battery charger. May initially cost a few bucks more but then when the batteries start to fail they are easily replaced and the mod still works fine.

Just a thought.

:)

Sounds as if the mini USB port is damaged like the soldier joints to the PCB not a good scenario because bad connections cause excessive heat. Definitely be careful and possibly time for an exploratory surgery on the MOD. Good Luck and hope you find it is only a minor problem!

The USB port on Picos is more vulnerable to the problem you mention than other mods. A metal part that holds the usb cable in place can come loose. I did it to one of mine by using a cable with a sticky connector and forcing the issue. I've seen a youtube video where it was successfully repaired but not worth doing unless government interference makes mods unobtainable. The last Pico i bought cost $20. It's my favorite mod regardless of that problem.

Micro USB ports are a pain to replace. I spent some time trying to replace one on my nephew's Galaxy tablet and was almost through when I went back to re-melt a cold joint on the board. When I did, it lifted the trace and made it virtually unrepairable. I was wearing a magnifier headset and using a paper clip wrapped around a Weller soldering tip to prevent damage. Go figure! It was an hour of wasted time for me.

I'm an experienced field engineer who did this kind of stuff for a living, except most of the time we replaced entire boards and sent them back to an outside vendor with micro soldering stations. It wasn't worth our time in the field.

In the case of the Pico $21 w/free shipping is a good deal to solve that problem.

Rocky Mountain Vapor has the Eleaf iStick Pico for $30 with a 30% discount using the code "turkey". Final price is $21 with free USPS ground ship. Mine's on the way right now. It uses a single replaceable 18650 and will also charge through the USB port, which means that you can still charge and replace the battery if the port gets damaged, which is a plus.

Eleaf website says the Pico goes down to 1 watt. I just recently won one of the new ones with bronze trim. Can't wait to get my hands on it! Have several forum friends very pleased with theirs.
Wish I could win something :)I am very happy for you. That's great

It depends on the coil resistance, apparently. Mine starts at 1 watt and tops out at 43.3 watts. I'm using a 1.87 ohm coil right now. Wattage is dependent on the voltage range of the device and the resistance of the coil you are using. It's supposed to go to 75W with the right coil resistance.

The battery will be fine. I have two batteries that are button top and they are a little longer than standard and the battery cap won't fit. The rest of mine fit fine. Those two that don't fit are really old. One is an old Efest (over rated at 35A) and the other is a black no-name with a silver generic sticker on it.

If you want to measure, the LG HG2 I'm using is 65.2mm long.

The fire button is the curved oval on the side below the atomizer and above the display. When you pick up the Pico your pointer finger falls into the fire button. If you reverse it with the atomizer toward you, your thumb falls naturally on the fire button.

The buttons on the bottom adjust wattage or temperature up and down. Normally, that's a set and forget setting.
