It won't stop!!

Tonight, my Bolt decided that it just wasn't going to turn off. On my way home from work, I was puffing away, set it down, and realized a few seconds later (after smelling that terrible burnt filler) that it didn't stop! The button wasn't being pressed at all. I ended up taking it apart until I could figure out what was going on when I got home. When I got home (and filled up a new carto) all was well... For a few hours. Now it's decided to randomly turn on or not turn off when I release the button. What is going on?!! I've taken it apart for the moment so I don't burn out another carto or bust my Bolt entirely. Any suggestions?

You could try soaking the switch in rubbing alcohol for a few minutes and let thoroughly dry and try again. If it does fix it, carefully monitor it for a while to be sure it's still not sticking. It really would be better though to just replace the switch for safety sake.

Get some electronic component cleaner from Radio shack. Better than alcohol and it will dissipate moisture which is a possibility. It is in a spray form and has one of those tiny tubes you can direct the spray. Just watch out you don't get it in your eyes. Spray the circuit board and the inside of the switch area. I've used that stuff or one like it for years and it has saved time and labor and switches and relays and circuit boards. LOL
