Itaste 134 Mini Issue - Red Flashing Lights?

Hey guys! Quick question. My friend has an iTaste 134 mini (about 3 months old) and it's having an issue where it's red light is blinking 8 times, then will go immediately back to normal (does NOT shut off) then seems to work fine for another few vapes (like 3 max) then will blink red 8 times again...and so on.

We tried to change the batteries, made no difference. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a solution? Do I need to give him my provari? (Lol JK.)

It's suppose to blink red for eight seconds and turn off when battery capacity is below 3.3v. Since it is not turning off and I assume you have tried a fresh battery I would try cleaning the battery contacts on the mod.

Note: might sound silly but the dial is not between settings?

Sorry I edited my post after you replied. Is dial between settings? It has been know to do erratic things when not set properly.

check if the dial is between settings. also, when you put in a battery, be sure to set it be to 6.5 watts before you turn it on. if you leave it on 10 watts for instead you will get the blinking red lights.

We did some research before posting and noticed previous issues about the dial being set in the middle--not the issue here. Also, he only vapes on 7 watts so that shouldn't be the issue either... Frustrating! I'm normally good at solving these APV issues...

Only thing I can think of is that the batteries you are trying are getting to the end of their useful life.

So when you are using it, the battery is sagging and the VTR is detecting it's below the 3.3V cutoff. Immediately the fire button is released, it jumps above the 3.3V and it's doesn't turn off.

Try a known good battery maybe. I know you said you tried a different battery, but apart from a really good clean inside and out with isopropyl alcohol, I don't know what else to suggest.

I have the same issue with my 134. It's about one month old and it worked just fine up to now. I have tried new batteries, cleaning everything, changed the resistance, turning the dial but it's still flashing red 8 times and nothing happens. In the manual they say it means there is a short circuit. This is frustrating !

The one thing - the important one - no one is mentioning is: what device are you using on it and what resistance?

Try seeing if the lights do the same sequence without an atty on it to determine if the + pin in the 510 connect point is shorting out...
