itaste mvp 3, problem charging?

After a long trip with only the mvp, i found it has an issue charging correctly.

It is very difficult to put the micro usb cable in to get it to charge. Almsot spent 1 hour to find the sweet spot and then had to tape it down to continue.

is this a known issue or any easy fix available?

Sounds like a bum USB cord and/or receptacle. If you can take/send it back for replacement then that would be your best bet. If not then know that most of us don't much trust the onboard charging firmware and use independant battery chargers (assuming of course your device isn't a integrated battery one).

yes, looks like the charging port is at fault. It charges, but it is very difficult to find the spot when it charges (putting the cable in) so maybe get another one.

Try a different charging cable and pray that's the cable and not the mod.

have had that happen to 2 later MVP's in past, wasn't until i bought another mvp that i found out the flimsy usb cable was culprit, they are easily ruined apparently cause i don't abuse my stuff. After it happened again with next mvp cord, i bought a set of 3 nylon braided micro charging cords for under $10 on A and had no more issues after that with any of the 6 mvps i ended up with.

Before condemning the mod or port in the MOD try a known good cable for testing purposes. Just because it is new doesn't mean it isn't DOA. Cables are the weakest link. Just my opinion from real life experience in the field.

I'd try a better quality charging cable first. Several of my old phone ones are in good shape still, and I usually prefer to use those than what comes with a kit when I'm using USB charge only, which is really put together often with less expensive parts where it's feasible....

I hope it's not your mod or mod PORT. If it is your port, I would take it back/send it back for replacement/warranty as if the port is at all becoming difficult, you might want to start fresh/over with another battery before it dies completely.

Might I also recommend that you look for (or pull the trigger on) a second device for backup?

What happens if, heaven forbid, your MVP becomes unchargeable and you need a nic fix?

I think the MVP series are well made mods, but this does illustrate the problem of mods that do not use replaceable batteries.
