I've been vaping for around 2 months now, so still a noob.
Just picked up an SVD at vapecan, and since I opened it, it seems to randomly turn off. (I'm not talking about the fire button cut off, the unit actually turns off, and I have to press the button 3 times to turn back on)

The SVD I think is a good update for me, as there is more to learn about VV and VW.
I'm not sure if it's a bad unit, my battery, or my setting with different tanks and atomizers that is causing it to turn off.

I'm hoping you guys can help.

I just started making an excel sheet with my settings and comparing when it turns off, so I don't have that much info yet, but will update this post.

Here is the static information;
PV: iTaste SVD
Battery: Manufacturer Unknown, generic blue battery. ICR18650 2200MAH 3.7V (fully charged 4.1V)

So far it shut off using;
Protank I
VV: 3.5
VW: 5.5
Res: 1.9
Battery V: 3.9
Should be around 10.1 Watts

Thanks and let me know if you need any more information.

I have also had this problem with mine. I'm using an AW IMR 18650. I actually have 2 batteries and it happens with both. I have used aSmok 2.5 ohms cartos, iClear 30 and now the Protank 1. I noticed it happened a lot when it was misreading one of my cartos by a few ohms. It was reading 2 ohm carto at 4 ohms. I hadn't thought to start an excel spreadsheet to track it, good idea!

I'm having the same issue as sa_mull, it's not a physical sticking of the button (like in the link from the post above), the powers just going off / it won't fire at all every few puffs - but at odd intervals for me. Seems like a possible software malfunction to me, either from damage, faulty wiring, or the atomizer/clearomizer interfering.

I find it occurring with taking multiple puffs, even when giving it time for the light to go off so it's ready for another hit. I've been using it 3 weeks with no issues so it's not the standard pause between taking quick vapes. I just built an atomizer at 1.3ohms which I believe is the lowest this thing can handle - maybe it somehow scrambled some software settings?

sa_mull did you use any lower resistance units? I also find it powering down midway through a puff. It's a very recent issue, i'll report back after another vape day. Thinking the atomizer resistance might be dropping slightly below threshold as I haven't noticed it with my 2.6ohmers. Your Protank coils could shift or change ohms from getting gunked up. Just a quick theory, definitely nothing definitive.

SVD is good device, but i have some problems with it.

1. Random shutdowns?*!
2. Center pin is bad and sometimes i dont get connection to atomizer.
3. Rattling of the telescopic tube is annoying, so i tighten the body and that isnt good for spring and other stuff inside

My question is what size of oring should i put under the pin? Does it help?

btw Fire button is like new and works great.

No protected batteries here - running aw imr 18650's and an efest imr 18650.

I can't figure it out. It'll just shut down mid-vape, the power won't go off but the "firing" action will (and the button light goes off). Doesn't seem to matter what I have there whether my 1.3ohm phoenix atomizer, rebuilt 2.6ohm vivi's or bcc. I think the issue either
1) centres around the connector, it's like it's not maintaining the connection, had to prop the pin up a few times as it wan't making a connection at all a few times. Then again that could be a completely isolated situation.

2) Not sure what to call this. But I ruined some ego twists not long ago, all I was running was my rebuilt vivi nova's, typically 2.6 ohm range. The bottom connector that screws into the batt was pretty damaged, no longer round, I did use it like that on my ego but only connected to the SVD with an adapter so I didn't mess up the threads on the device.
Maybe because the connectors arn't perfectly round it's messing with the electrical transfer and somehow scrambling the units computer safety?

I notice, and I think it's from the centre pin of the SVD beging pushed down, different ohm readings of the same device on there, sometimes reading non. It could be reading improperley even during mid-vape and shutting it down.

I don't know, it's mind boggling and a pain in the ... just to get a good vape. If it is the pin I wish I went with a Tesla with it's floating centre pin instead of the SVD, sick of these weak, flakey pins and their connection issues. I'll admit when it is working it's mighty nice.

Yeah, definitley seems to be a connector issue. The things touchy and I think it depends on the threads of the unit your putting on it. I get various ohm readings from the same unit, just move it a hair and it will change to "non" and not fire.

Anyone else having these issue see if turning your clearo or whatever by the threads just slightly fixes it. Might have to mess with the pin of the SVD by lifting it all around slightly with a pin like the ego batts.
