Can't find any info on this anywhere. When the button is pressed on my wife's SVD, the leds flash (on the button) and it turns off. The screen shows the current voltage setting too. She's using an aerotank that I'v rebuilt the coils for. It's a single micro coil measuring 2.3 ohms on my Provari. Any ideas?

Can you set it to display OHMS?

Perhaps it is detecting a short and powering off automatically.

Perhaps it is shorting at the center pin in the 510 threadwell.

I'm thinking it may be shorting at the connector. If she drops it, I have to raise the pin back up to make contact again. That center pin is unbelievably loose. Is there anything I can do to fix it, or should I just send her shopping for a new device? (That SVD is well over a year old.)

I had a problem with shorting center pin on my vamo a few months ago;
was able to pull the cap off eventually (kept trying for two weeks by hand until one day I clamped one side down with a c-clamp).
Busted the wires in the process; anyway I took out the insulator ring that separates the center pin from the 510 threadwell and replaced it with an insulator ring (the grommet on the protank coil) from a protank coil. Soldered it all back up and pressed is back in. Works great since then.

Sounds like you bought one of the good ones.

Yeah, it used to be my every day device and I'm not a gentle person. I got the top ring cross threaded once by dropping it on a concrete floor. I took it out in the parking lot, took the tank off, and bashed it into the pavement until it stripped the threads. I put my tank back on and it vaped like nothing happened.

A number of people including me have had that problem. The button must be pressed dead center every time or it shuts off. Sent one back to warranty for that reason but the replacement does it too. The button used is too finicky for me and I just use it as a backup device now.

Yes mine does the same thing. I'll be vaping right along then nothing. I'll think my battery has died just to find it's shut off. Press it 3 times and I'm up and running again. I bet you know what atylerrose means too :)
