Itaste VTR activates when battery is OFF

My buddy just got a Nimbus Clone and was building a new coil. The coil read 0.7 ohms. Now no matter what when the battery is inside the VTR it activates. We tried a number of tanks but they all vape even though it is off. What the hell is going on? Now I had a 0.8 ohm on a dual coil that I have been running since last night.

I am worried that it is messed up and it might do the same to his MVP 2.

When the battery is in it, I can smell like a wire or something is burning. He is wondering if he will be buying me a new VTR or not. Probably so....

With respect to the mvp2; if you watch this video you will see that it doesn't work well with low resistance (about 2.5 seems to be a good idea). I didn't check, but I'd bet this reviewer also has a vtr review, and has done the same output-under-load tests.

I will tell him that but he has it running about 1.2 or so. I am so frustrated.

Have you tried different batteries in the VTR? It might be the battery you're using is the problem. They can become damaged & cause these sorts of problems sometimes.

I have tried 2 other batteries and they all do the same thing. It smells like there is a shorted wire, I have not put a new battery in it since last night. He said he will be buying me a new one. Might just tell him to get me a mech mod instead of another vtr (since it was free)
