There is one good reason they stop with MVP2 production.
inside MVP is Li-Po battery which is most dangerous of all Lithium cells.
RC guys are using them for their projects.
Battery of this type performing very well, but it is very very sensitive.
99% of all battery related incidents are involving Li-Po cells.

It's actually a Li-ion (lithium ion) battery, which is safe to discharge and recharge without fear of combustion. These batteries have voltage regulation circuits built in so they don't over discharge/charge, that's why they're in every electronic device from cellphones to laptop/tablet computers.
Li-Po (lithium polymer) batteries that you mention are high discharge cells that are great for hobby electronics such as r/c. If mishandled they can be very dangerous. No manufacture would put one of these batteries in an enclosed device and allow it to be shipped all over the world.

After looking at some tear down pictures I'll admit that I jumped at a conclusion. The MVP V2 does indeed house a 2200mah 3.7v LiPO battery. However battery technology has greatly improved in recent years. Shouting "LiPO batteries are dangerous" is a very disingenuous statement just as shouting "guns kill people" or "toilet seats give you Hep-C". Yes if mishandled or if careless life can be a very precarious place, but taking the proper precautions and care of our toys, and day-to-day lives we all can carry-on without incident. I for one don't live inside a bubble, but I also do my best to take care of my things.
The MVP does have circuit protection and will not fire below 3.3v which is within safe standards of LiPO operation. Lithium Polymer batteries will last for a long time with proper care and I have several 7.2v batteries I use in my airsoft hobby that are well over two years old that hold a excellent charge. On the other hand they are not being discharged nearly as much as my MVP, maintaining a good charge would be a good idea for this device. I'm not a battery "expert" but I would not recommend discharging the battery fully all the time, but rather "top it off" often to keep the cells "healthy" and active. That is the best way to keep the chemistry in these batteries in working order.
Hope this helps anyone that has any paranoid thoughts on this device!
