No I didn't buy it this way, I just got a bit bored today so zapped it with the airbrush, and gave it a matt varnish coat as well.

Much better than that green they do. Might borrow a dremel soon and do the ring.

Thanks everyone for your comments so far. It took many coats and cutting back with wet'n'dry until the logo on the front and the criss-cross lines on the back could no longer be seen through the paint. but I think it was worth the time doing.
