If it still vapes, use it in voltage mode and set the volts accordingly to the resistance of the coil you are using (if you are unsure, use the rule of 2 and simply add 2 to the resistance of the coil and set your voltage there - adjust up or down to get the flavor and vapor you desire)

If it's not reading the resistance correctly I'd think this should only affect the VV3 when using it in wattage mode.

I've not heard of this issue before. Interesting...

I've had this happen on a wonky coil in a T3S. If you are trying to use your v3 in wattage mode (P), your vape will suffer as the v3 will not know what resistance to use. You will still be able to use it in voltage mode--but without knowing what is going on with your coil you are swimming in deeper waters. Does the v3 read ohms on a different coil or does it seem to be a problem with the v3 itself? If it is just your coil, then it's possible you might have a short.

If the V3 has a short then it won't vape.

That's only true if the short is not intermittent. My v3 flipped out on a standard coil that I had mushed together when I re-wicked. Basically, the ohms reading jumped all over the place, from 2.0 to 6+, until finally the panel filled with a bunch of characters that looked straight out of Star Trek. After pulling the topper, re-wicking again, and straightening the coil out, the head worked fine. At least, that's been my experience.

Tried 5 new clearos today all the same will not read ohms.. I have 2.0 ohm coils vapes like a champ at 4.2 v on my mini protank 3 but in vw am not so sure
It sounds as if the problem is the V3, I'm afraid to say. Did you recently purchase it? If so, I believe that Innokin has a 30-day warranty.

On vw mode the vape is kinda harsh
That would be because the v3 needs to be able to read the ohms of your coil to self-adjust the voltage to match.
