Just noticed the rust tonight. I've had this battery for just two months - so it isn't old age..

Update: It LOOKS like rust - but I"m not certain. It's rust-colored. Maybe it's coming off of the threads inside of the mpt2 base?

Maybe it was because I've been using a lot of rubbing alcohol (70%) to wipe off ejuice leaks and spills and I most likely cleaned the ego threads with a kleenex doused with that alcohol on it. I find the alcohol cleans ejuice far better than water. Perhaps the alcohol removed some kind of protectant? The inner 510 threads are fine. Just the top 2/3rds of the outer ego threads which I've been connecting and disconnecting repeatedly to what I lovingly refer to as "my pita" (you may know it as the "mini protank 2" ;) ). I see the same rust color on the inside of the mpt2 base.

1) Do you think it was the alcohol? I thought WATER causes rust? (Though the 70% alcohol is probably a good percentage of water). Or is perhaps the constant screwing/unscrewing of the mpt2 from teh battery as I have been doing a lot of coil rebuilds and refilling of juice?

2) Best way to clean it? Should I apply something to protect it - a lubricant?
