iTaste VV v3 super hot battery problem

Wonder if the timeout period itself has a timeout. For example if I hold the button down it may shutdown after 10sec but turn back on after another 10sec. The staggered discharge could accumulate enough heat to burn. I'll have to test this out.

I can confirm that both our VV's have a working 10second shut off circuit. It deactivates after holding the fire button down for 10 seconds. Keeping it held down doesn't reactivate the device. I wonder if it somehow got turned on and off continuously in the handbag or something else happened. I suppose a collapsible battery coil or something similar could have helped break the circuit when it got to a certain temp. Maybe it's time to move back to a device that doesn't have a built in battery. :-/

Good to know. I ordered 2 VV from fasttech last month and got them a few days ago. One had a broken ohm meter (always reads NON) and the other one apparently overheats.

I ordered 3 more to see how it goes since I (read my gf) liked the form factor.

Not feeling real confident with innokin products right now. :(.

Wish provari looked nicer since we'd carry that around more.

Mountbakervapor has the upgraded vv's for like 30$ and the kit for 60$ fast tech sells clones and B grade products. most if which aren't safe to use

So my gf kept her iTaste VV in her large spacious handbag. Somehow I suspect one of the button got held down and the battery became so hot it seared her skin when she tried to grab it. It was hot enough to melt plastic.

I was a bit surprised, concerned, and dissapointed. Doesn't the iTaste VV have safety mechanisms to protect against basic issues like this? Do I have a lemon? Anyone else experience this?

It's always a good idea to turn off your device for transport--especially when it's tossed into a purse without a case to protect it; 3 clicks will turn your battery off. Batteries store energy. Sometimes that energy can be accidentally released.
