Just tried my first Ithaka build and boy was that fun (not). Having accumulated several NR-R type atomizers, I built a wire welder and prepared a couple of nickel-kanthal wires which promptly fell apart when I went to use them to wrap the coils. I tried the wire welder again at higher voltage to get a better weld and -zap- the welder fried itself. So I make the wires the old fashioned twisty way, wrap the coils around ekowool (I hate that stuff, fibers everywhere), and try stuffing two coils in along with another fat piece of ekowool like in the instructional video I watched. No go, it just won't all fit and the coil leads are breaking as I screw the atomizer pieces together. Take it all apart, try again with one coil and it is much smoother this time. Check the resistance and it's zero, look at everything closely, no obvious shorts, think about how everything is connected and it dawns on me that the guy in the video I watched had connected both leads to the positive pin but to different places on the pin, no wonder there's no resistance. I fix the problem and now I've got 0.9 ohms, yay, put on a mod and it fires, double yay. Screw on more pieces of this thing, put in some juice, and it comes gurgling down through the positive pin and I realize I don't actually know the right way to fill this thing. I clean up the mess on my desk and figure out how to fill it properly, fire it up on a mod and after 3 hours of hair pulling get a nice smooth flavorful vape. That was quite the learning experience! Not complaining about the Ithaka, it is a beautifully machined atomizer, but wow it's the most complex item I've dealt with so far in my many adventures in vaping!

I will always go back to ithaka, even though I still buy gear... For me a single coil ithaka at 1.5 ohm on 18350 is the sweet spot for pocket friendly : clouds : battery life. Do yourself a favor and buy some ready wires. I've had 2 break on me while rebuilding, maybe 50 builds. I screw the rebuildable part as far down as it can go so I do not have to adjust the center post with any of my mods, makes for better contact and less leakage through the 510. When setup properly ithaka does not leak under normal circumstances, my favorite aspect of this wonderful atomizer.
