What kind of juice are you vaping? Some juices will kill coils in a day or two. I don't have any experience with ribbon kanthal so I can't say if they gunk up any faster than regular wire.. But gunking wires is from juice. You can try to dry burn your wick when it gunks up, depending on the juice. I've always tried with bobas bounty and it doesn't work but I believe most juices will.
Like subver said, its the juice. I dont know what eliquid you use, but it happens with my NET tobaccos. I have to clean and dry burn after one tank full with those tobaccos. My coils will get gunky and dark and I can tell by the taste. I just take the rebuildable unit out, soak it in hot tap water for about 5 mins and dry burn and its ready to go again.
With my clear minty, fruit flavours this does not happen. I can refill and go for a few tanks before having to dry burn. NET tobaccos and coffees and thick really sweet flavours will do this also.
You dont need to rebuild all the time, just rinse , soak and dry burn to get more life out of your builds. Bishopheals has a great tutorial on dry burning with GG atomizers. If I can find it , I will post it.

Thats the one, another great "how to" by the always charismatic Bishopheals. I keep looking for his "twisting 101" and havent been able to find it. SO many people have issues with twisting and he shows you how its so easy you could teach your grandma to do it without hurting her hands.
I could use that video! Haven't twisted my first one yet, wanted to find a zapper-type thing but am striking out. I'm back on the analogs and desperate to get the ithaka humming >.<
Hi guys I have a new revised way to making twisted coils. Ill do video on it tonight. As for the gunk you speak of it all has to do with ejuice if its honey or syrup flavors. As long as you made your coils tight on wick then you can do a dry burn like you do on a genie and it will clean the wick and turn it white. ready to vape on again. Of course keep in mind nothing is better than having a fresh new coil and wick.
