My Ithaka has issue with wicking. After a refill, when i do chain vaping after 2nd vape, it loses taste and sometimes slight dry hit. My current solution is to let it rest for 15seconds before vaping. However, when i rebuild it with fresh wicks, it works great without issue whether its single or dual coil, I can chain vape 5x without any issue. Can anyone advice me how to eliminate this issue? Thanks.

I am using 3mm Silica with 1.2Ohm premade.

Thanks imeo, will try when i get a hold of that. I just find it strange because fresh setup works so perfectly well. Will torching new wick before coiling helps?

I followed your single coil guide that you posted in youtube, however instead of using 2mm + 3mm silica, i am using both 3mm. Is there any reasoning behind using 2mm and 3mm instead of using both 2mm or 3mm?

Thanks guys, manage to get it working perfectly now. I replaced wick with 2x 2mm and torching it before use. Seems to wick a lot better now. Not sure if it's the torching, size or quality of wick makes it works.

Bis, I tried to open for like 3-4 full turns, it does not solve the problem while getting gurgling instead. It seems that it is wicking ok from the side but not to the center where the coils are.

hi there Hsan7...hubs just got me hooked on the kringle method...(I hope I have the name right), which is NO wick in the channels...If I hadn't done it myself and tested refilling the ithaka x4, I wouldn't have believed it. I have a single 1.3 ohm coil on double wick (3mm each) tail wicks cut at the channels...it wicks PERFECTLY!
Give it a try.

And I think that maybe by using MrKrinkle's method, liquid capacity should be bigger, because small chamber will be filled with liquid also.

Tested MrKrinkle's short wick on bishop's dual coil highlander setup, so far works great. It takes time to adjust airflow control for perfect juice flow. Open too much, it gets too wet making vapor production low, too less burn taste. But i'm currently happy on this setup, will try to experiment dual coil crossed ss mesh.

I have also done a hybrid version of this ...I leave the wick in the channels of the wire and cut the wicks at the top of the channels that don't have wires...this works well too...I am satisfied with this one and comfortable with the fact that the wires down the channels are held in place by the wicks. make sure you close off the basic feed and only control the amt of fluid by the mouthpiece...
