Do you really have to solder NR wire and kanthal wire?

cant you just twist them together tightly instead?

I just twist mine. I make the coil first leaving the ends long so I can sip them then twist on the NR wire. This way I get everything just right Todds reviews has a good ITHAKA tutorial also. the link patsfan1130 posted is how alot of us learned to use R and NR wire set ups.
