It's a Matter of Taste

I am two weeks into vaping and twelve days without an analog (YAY!). The problem I'm having is a matter of taste. I've used tank cartridges, stardusts, fluxomizers, a drip tip, and boges on both an eGo C and an eGo T and I just can't get consistent taste from my juice. One drag will have pretty good flavor and the next six have no taste at all. When I first started vaping, I was amazed at the burst of flavor, but instead of my taste buds improving after ditching analogs, they seem to have gone into a deep sleep.

I know it's not the juice since I'm using ones I enjoyed the first couple of days and they should have gotten stronger after steeping, not weaker. I've also tried a few different ones to see if a change in flavor would wake things up, but no.

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi JudeD, I have the same problems at times. I make my own juice and I know what the flavor should be. Sometimes I have fiddled around and spent way too much time trying to get the flavor I am looking for. Different atomizers, different voltages and still cant get the right flavor. I have chalked it up to my taste buds. Not sure if it is that but what else can it be. Some days I wake up and cant believe the flavor and sometimes I wake up and the same juice on the same atomizer with muted flavor. Also I notice that sometime when I eat certain foods, the flavor of my juice will change. I eat a lot of fruit and vaping afterwards is always dull.

Try giving yourself a variety of flavors during the day, I think it's very common to loose taste especially during the latter part of the day when our taste buds are becoming over sensitized to the flavor we've been using all day long. Also a slice of bread with a water chaser can help revive dwindling tasters.

Yeah multiple flavors can help if it is indeed sensory (not gear) issue. I find if I'm steady vaping a heavy sweet juice, it's good once in a while to switch over to like a light citrus as a pallette cleanser. Then when you go back, you can once again taste all the flavor and subtle notes of the original juice.

And Nordoe, get back to work. :p

Thanks, everyone. I've already eliminated soda from my diet because I noticed that muted any taste from the juice right away. I've ordered some juice with extra flavor so maybe that will make a difference until my taste buds come alive again. I'll try the water and bread suggestion and see if that helps.

And tribe, thanks, but going an hour or more without a vape doesn't seem to help. :(

Don't panic, just give it some time! The acids in soda will definitely effect your 'buds' and mask or mar many flavors. Now that you have said "buh bye" to that, it should be a matter of time. Some people will regenerate their taste buds quicker than others, also. Maybe just try switching em up and make sure you are drinking plenty of water..keep that up and in no time, you should be fine!
