I have smoked 2-3 packs of "ultra-light" cigarettes every day for about 23 years. For the first 15 years I didn't want to quit, for the last 7 or 8 it's been a complete pain between rising prices, stinking house/clothes/fingers and having children.

A couple of weeks ago a friend mentioned e-cigs to my wife and I was interested. He lent us one and I started using it last Saturday, I was immediately sold on the concept but not the particular device. I googled around and found this forum, talk about overwhelming. :)

Monday morning I ordered a 510 from e-smokeytreats.

It got here Thursday afternoon after sitting in the sorting facility for a whole day, hooray for the USPS.

First thing I noticed was how small it is, maybe 1/3 of an inch longer than my analog 100s and the thickness is negligible.

Second thing was how short the power cord is for the charger, this is gonna be a problem. I'll need to find a usb charger.

Third thing was that the battery I put in the charger showed full charge in about 5 minutes, I put the other battery in and it's still charging so maybe one comes with a full charge? (Clearly that's not the case, green light or not the battery croaked after about half an hour so I've been swapping them as soon as they go green.)

Regardless, I'm using it and HUZZAH! It's not putting out piles of vapor yet but I didn't blow out the atomizer or anything, I just screwed it together and inserted a medium tobacco cartridge. Tastes like caramelized sugar to me, it could almost be creme soda. Compared to the cigarettes it's practically rainbows and butterflies.

There's still a pack of analogs sitting on my desk, I have a feeling it'll sit there forever collecting dust.

One thing annoys me: Where were these things 10-15 years ago? When I think of the money I've smoked away, the ashtray mouth, the coughing, the STENCH, the filth...

Er, I think I just finished off the primer juice, the flavor just changed dramatically (plain old tobacco now) and there's vapor all over the place. Maybe I'll be able to hire myself out as a human fog machine for parties. I can really notice the difference between vapor and smoke when I inhale through my nose, vapor is warmer and "wetter" than smoke.

Meanwhile I only have 20 pre-filled cartridges (chocolate, cherry, tobacco and menthol) and one bottle of chocolate juice and I think the tobacco carts are going to be an emergency backup because now that I'm getting the full effect of it I'm not too thrilled. Time to go on a buying spree.

Up until now I've only ever bought one thing that didn't give me immediate buyers remorse, this 510 is now the second.

Hmm, just sitting here I've managed to go through one cartridge already, time for the chocolate and definitely time to buy a boatload of juice.

I can not even begin to describe how much more an enjoyable experience this is compared to smoking. I was just talking to my wife on the phone and she's jealous already, she only smokes around me and less than half a pack a day but it looks like I've gotta buy a 510 for her already.

(Update since I wrote this yesterday and only got it posted now: I've gone through about six prefilled cartridges and topped off one of the chocolates at least 5 times. I'm now panicking on how I'm gonna make it through the weekend.)

Those prefilled carts might not be empty(maybe just having trouble wicking fast enough to keep up) I would stick with one cartridge and just top off every half hour to hour if it taste's dry.
Find out if your friend has any juice, but last option is to put used cartridge filler in a shot needle and squeeze the remaining juice out

I have also soaked camel snus in PG to extract tobacco flavoring and used that......http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cco-flavoring-nicotine-extraction-method.html
Don't know if u get much nicotine but it beats running dry

Congrats, welcome, and yeah! Order the juice, I went thru Johnson's Creek for my first juice order, just made a second this week, there are others - they were fast, 3 business days. They have delivery options.

Best wishes for a brighter tomorrow and a better today! :thumb:

Welcome Bored! Another 510 lover here!

I ordered juice from www.esmokeyshack.com and it was here in just under 48 hours. Alot of suppliers are really fast shippers so you just might make it through until you get juice.

JC takes forever to ship so you might want to wait to try their juice until you have a supply already.

Great suggestion Happily to ask his friend for juice. :thumb: Hadn't thought of that myself.

When I was running low, I took the filler out of my carts, turned it around and reinserted it. The front end (the end you can see when you pull the cart off) is always dryer than the back end where the juice tends to lay and doesn't usually get sucked through. If you take it out and turn it around, you can get another 5 or 6 puffs out of it sometimes.

Good luck!

tastes like rainbow and butterflys, LOL man awesome

my wife also tried out my 510 but she told me she only wanted malboro flavor, one day i come in the house with watermelon flavored cart ans she goes nuts for the flavor, i think shes getting the point.
all the flavors hare great tobacco malboro fruits, the cool thing with vaping is that you can change to your hearts content.
i like e-smokeytreats watermelon and juicy liquid's blueberry, fast shipping and the flavor is awsome, also look into cutting your e-liquid with VG if its to your liking you can almost double your juice for a couple of dollars. PM me if you need help with this, although there are a lot of helpful videos aroud here

Congrats, and welcome! It sounds like you did plenty of reading before you got started, and are off to a good start. All you need now is juice. But don't worry about running out if you order now - You have that one bottle of chocolate, so you'll be okay until a new shipment comes in. Forget the prefilled carts, and go for bottles so you always have it on hand. Cleaning and filling carts yourself is a breeze.

We ordered our 510's on the same day and mine arrived yesterday as well. I love this device!

A word on the batteries - Do not believe the indicator light on the charger. In order to get the best performance out of any rechargeable battery you should charge it FULLY before using. Put the battery in the charger and charge at least four hours; better to charge for eight and then use it until the charge is pretty much gone. Rechargeables don't have the "memory" issues they used to but you will get a longer life out of them treating them this way.

Refilling with your own juice is the only way to go IMHO. I've only been vaping for a month but early on I ordered about $100 worth of juice from Johnson Creek and have not been sorry. Check out their Welcome to E-Smoking kit - it comes with a lot of tools (tweezers, squeeze bottles etc.) and a sample of each flavor juice. (Disclaimer: I am in no way connected to Johnson Creek other than as a customer - I'm only stating my opinion.)

Anyway, welcome to vaping. Hope it works out for you as well as it's been working out for me.

Hello again Boredoftheworld:

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts and experience after ordering and receiving your new 510. Guess the big jump you talked about a few day ago left you landing on your two feet, Tee hee.

It's a bit more task than analoges, but well worth it. You will shortly figure out what is best for your personal self. Best of luck to you and your wife.

OK so, I can't ask my friend for juice because the device he was using is an "inlife" which as far as I can tell doesn't want anyone to know that juice even exists. Beyond that just before he lent it to me he had an angioplasty and his doc made him give up everything fun in his life so now I'm the only vapor-er I know.

I've got enough chocolate in the bottle to last me quite a while and I ordered 3 other bottles (peach, coffee and cherry) yesterday that should get here early next week.

Battery life on this thing is just vile, that's probably because I trusted the green light, I have to wait about 15 minutes after one battery dies before the next one goes green. I just noticed that when the light is green that giving the battery a slight tap will turn the light red... and vice versa. I ordered another battery and a usb charger.

I'm 24 hours without an analog, I've freaked out a couple times because I noticed the ashtray was gone or my hand automatically reached for the lighter that isn't there anymore. On the whole though, I'm very happy, just seeing what came out of the air intake chamber for the a/c when my wife decided to clean it out last night blew my mind. Good grief... I don't think I've ever seen so much "dirt" in my entire life.

But in the final analysis I have what I consider to be definitive proof that vaping is vastly superior to smoking: the cat didn't jump out of bed last night when I started vaping. Had I lit up an analog he would have left the room, finally I blew some vapor at his face and he didn't even blink so no matter what the AMA or FDA finally decide, as far as I'm concerned vaping has the Cat Seal of Approval.

I realize I'm probably looking for the impossible but I'd love to find a company that had overnight service, stocked the replacement parts I need and the juices I'm interested in... at rock bottom prices of course. It's beginning to look like I'll have to go to website "A" for batteries, "B" for atomizers, "C" for blank carts, "D" for chargers, "E" "F" and "3" for juice and goodness knows who for "I've gotta have it tomorrow or I'm gonna strip naked and take a rifle up the belltower!"

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

When you find that one company that has everything in stock, at rock bottom prices, and will be standing on your doorstep tomorrow morning waiting for you to get your .... out of bed, please let us all in on it!
