hi all!

It looks to be a squeeze bottle that screws into the cap, so to activate the dripping, you simply squeeze the bottle. Nicely done, tinear, and aptly named device to boot!

yup, that about sums it up. a modified 3ml high density polyethylene dropper bottle screws into a receptor, creating a leak proof seal. applying firm and steady pressure forces eliquid through the connecting tubes and out the "fang". no motorized pumps to break or batteries to charge. just press and vape.

AWESOME MOD...

Does it work well?

my opinion might be a little biased, but yes, i'd say that it gets the job done very efficiently. my goal was to create a user friendly, manually operated dripping device that works as simply and as easily as possible. i've tested it with a variety of liquids from (i think) different manufacturers, and also with a 33% pure glycerin/juice mixture. it handles the different viscosities very well.

Is it hard to hit the manual switch?

not at all. the battery switch is as easily accessable as before. once you handle it for a little while i'm sure you'd find the entire unit quite comfortable to hold and operate.

What about spillage or overfill?

if used properly the unit itself is pretty much spillproof and leakproof. it is intended to be operated in an upright vertical positon just as you would for regular dripping, but when not in the process of actually "dripping" can be held horizontally or inverted. vape as you normally would.
overfill can occure, but it has to be almost intentional. the drops that come out of the Fang are small compared to what you see from a standard eyedropper and it takes somewhat more effort to use than your regular squeeze dropper. pumping too often or for too long could result in overfill, just as dripping too much or too often might.
on the plus side, the Fang is completely water emersable and washable. it may even be dishwasher safe, but i haven't tried that yet. the silicone "boot" tip is also removable for cleaning/replacement.

It's one of those inventions that seems to be inspired by nature. I'm not sure if a fang gave you the idea or u thought it resembled one afterwards, but brilliant either way.

thanks! it's funny, because about halfway through designing it i thought to myself "this reminds me of something...." and sure enough when i was looking around for snake-ish names, ie: "venomizor", "constrictor", "vapor vipor" ~ i came across the "how fangs work" diagram. it was definitly a " duh " moment.

Nice engineering Tinear, Did you make those plastic bits or can they be sourced so we can build one too?

i did all the shaping by hand, sorry. but the raw materials themselves are available: polycarbonate tubing, silicone tubing, brass tubing, epoxy, etc. all pretty basic stuff.

Looks like the Fang could sport different adapters to fit several ecig models. Is that in any future plans?

as it stands now the Fang will work for the 510 and 901 series and also (with a slight mod to an existing cart) the RN4091. there may be others, but these are the only models i have in my possession to spec from.
by using a female coupling instead of a cart style male connection to the atomizer, the Fang creates a tight seal on a variety of models.
hopefully, i will be privy to feedback as to any other models it is compatible with.
i am also working on a fiber cart model, but there are still some things to work out. it may turn out that there will be a true "cart" adaptor. we'll see.

Tinear, Does it work by pressure to the bottle or a syphon action from the inhale ?

external pressure to the bottle, though in my early prototype i did observe some movement by the liquid though the tubes caused by the reduced air pressure in the "cart" during drawing ~ but man, you'd have to suck like a Hoover to pull enough through to vape, and chances are you'd be drinking it before it ever got to the atomizer. it did make me stop and think about it, though.

as far as a video demo goes ~ i'll do what i can, but unfortunately ATM my priorities lay elsewhere.

i thank all those that offered to beta for me. in the spirit of fairness i will tell you that i have been in contact with a fellow forum member for the past two weeks or so concerning Fang. their input has been and continues to be a valuable asset, and i appreciate both their patience and confidence. they are #1 in line, no discussion. sorry. perhaps they may share and review, perhaps not. that's up to them.

thanks all for the comments! i'll try to get into more detail and answer more when i can.

cheers!

How do you know when the right amount of juice has been dripped? Is it one hard squeeze of the bottle for one drop; does it keep dripping until you let off on the pressure?

define "right amount"? lol! IMHO, there are so many variables. but anyway, to your Q's ~

there is a time factor involved. it takes an aproximate 2 second count of sustained pressure to apply one drop, and an additional one second of continued pressure for each following drop. any undripped liquid is pulled back into the bottle. i've include a "cheat" window so that a user can follow the progress of the liquid as it travels toward the "fang". after a little while of usage it becomes more muscle memory than concious effort.
you have to get used to the idea that you'd no longer have to "load up" liquid between drips.
"hmm... i put three drops on already. do i go for four or will that be too much?"

ok, if this helps at all ~

i "pumped out" all the liquid from the resevoir bottle.
filled with exactly 20 drops (aprox 1ml +/-) of eSmokeyTreats Marlb 15ml 36mg
then reinstalled the resevoir bottle and counted exactly 53 drops to empty again.
so it takes roughly 2.5+ Fang drops to equal one "standard" dropper bottle drop.

hey! thanks for the (re)interest!
actually, i'm going to start working up a batch very soon, though unfortunately these suckers are very labor intensive to make so it'll take some time.

in the meantime, here's a preview of V2.0.....
