So I started vaping sometime in late March of this year. Saw a friend who had a blu premium pack and I thought it was cool (got to give it to them, if you know nothing about vaping, their product seems very appealing, great marketing strategy). But alas, I could not quit smoking with the blu. It wasn't enough satisfaction and absolutely zero TH.

So as I was cruising their forum, I saw some people posting about "Volcano". Straight to YouTube I went. Holy smokes! Look at the size of that battery, I surely won't be charging those every 30 minutes. And what's this? Bottles of liquid? Fill your own atomizing devices? At the fraction of the cost of blu prefilled cartos? Look at the vapor these people are exhaling!! ORDERED a Volcano Inferno Kit ON THE SPOT. Got it on April 4, 2012 in the early evening and I haven't looked back since.

Since then, like we all do, I've had an immense reaction to my new found hobby/tobacco harm reduction method/addiction. At first a lot of my friends gave me crap. "Look at the size of that thing". "I feel like I'm hitting a c***k stem". "Is that one of those FAKE ones"? "Can I try it"? "It's hurts, it makes me cough". "It’s just a fad". Etc......

Well, a little over three month later and now there are 11 people in my direct circle of friends who are now vaping. 8 of them are completely off tobacco. Two nights ago I helped one of those friends put a cart together on ProVape for a Provari for his boss. Last night I was over there helping him with his DCT tank issue he was having. Got the solved in a few minutes. Another one of my direct friends, 3 of his friends have started. It looks like my parents are going to jump on the band wagon as well. Everyone calls me when they have questions like I'm sort of expert. I usually tell them what I can and say, "You need to get on ECF and READ". That's where I've gained all of my knowledge. I didn't have any friends who were into vaping before this (I don't count that girl I saw with the blu, it wasn't but a couple weeks before she was back on analogs herself).

Has anyone experienced this? Has vaping snowballed downhill around them in such precedence?

On a side note, I can't wait to get my hands on a provari of my own. I stepped up from my inferno eGo type batts almost a month ago to a lavatube, I had to see what VV was all about, and getting a barely used on for 40 bucks, couldn’t pass that up. Now I'm stalking every site and thread to obtain a Darwin and will be buying a Provari right after that. Ah the best of both worlds!

Sincerely,

A Crack3d One

Somewhat yes. I converted my Wife and Mother at the same time I started. Since then, I have 1 guy I work with using an Ego exclusively (I fill his Cartos for him, as long as it is easy and cheap he is happy with it) and one other guy is switching between that and his pack of Kools. My Boss never smoked and the other 2 mentioned are the only other employees. Also, they are the only humans I speak to. I do not like humans much, they are ignorant and disrespectful creatures.

It's all a matter of friends turning on friends to the benefits of vaping over smoking. Advertising isn't going to do it. It's going to have to be one on one exposure to vaping that gets the word out. TV advertising would help, but I don't see that happening since ecigs were classified as tobacco products that can't be advertised on TV and in magazines.

Government has to admit that ecigs are a safer alternative to cigarettes. Once the medical stats are in and show that vapers have fewer medical problems than smokers, the public will accept the stats and the stigma over ecigs will relax.

Regardless, it's a great experience to assist someone in dropping da 'bakky'. Kudos to ya!

yup, happy to say that I think your story is typical, though varies in degree. I've only converted a couple of smokers myself, but then again I don't have many friends that smoke. Co-workers on the other hand, have had their mind blown, and are trying different models/accessories with my direction. I know a thing or two, but I'm the resident vapormaster in my circles!

Hahaha! You mix their juices!? Are you getting paid for this?

Should have said they vape my mixes. I make a very modest profit. I don't do this for profit, just satisfaction for helping folk dump da 'bakky.

BTW, added v-vert #24 yesterday! Just about the time I think I've run out of possible n00b vapers, someone else shows up.

I had a little impact, seeing as how I've always been the odd-man-out because most of my friends and family do not smoke. I started with a Mystic from Wal-mart. Used it for about a week and got a kit with extra batts to share with my wife. She still alternates with both, but using much less. My brother was curious about mine and and got one for himself. I believe he uses it most of the time and sneaks in a few cigar-ettes every now and again. Unbeknownst to me, a college classmate told her boyfriend about seeing me use mine in the hallway and she bought him one for his birthday, he loved it. Someone else knew about them because they stole his charger out of his car. This was the most satisfying, being an influence and not even knowing it. I have since switched to SI Volt with different extras. I am so glad I decided to spend the $7 that day in Wal-mart. "Vape On Vapors"

I've only converted 2 people since I started vaping - a friend and my sister - mostly because I'm home with my kids all day and don't really get a chance to socialize with adults these days, but every smoker I know "wants to get one" now. Nobody wants to take the time to learn about vaping though. I literally had to get their credit card info and order them starter kits with the setups and supplies that I believed they would have the best chance to successfully quit smoking. I had them shipped to my house and prepared everything for them so all they had to do was vape. I even supplied them with numerous half-filled bottles of juice from the abundance of sample packs I have acquired in the short time I have been vaping, but they still won't take the initiative to even start looking online for juice on their own and come to me for refills and questions (yes, Crack3dOne like I'm some kind of prophet of the vape gods) Before I ordered my first kit I spent 2 weeks (at least) reading info on ECF because I wanted to make sure I would be happy with the device and finally quit smoking. I'm 33 and have been smoking for 20 years - it wasn't till I said that aloud one day that I realized how frightening that was to me. I'm a single parent of 2 boys and decided I'd rather be around to see them grow up, so I finally pulled the trigger on the KGO kit thanks to all the helpful info, people and resources on ECF. Even when it came in I had no clue what I was doing or what I was in for. My only experience before then was probably 2 years ago I tried one my friend had (likely a disposable) that had little flavor, zero throat hit, and next to zero vapor. I haven't stopped reading and learning since, and while I help answer questions and try to keep my newly converted vapers off analogs, I still stress they need to get on ECF and read about what it is they are actually doing. If for no other reason than for safety! Until then they will be staring at my various PV's and recently organized vaping box with the same utterly confused look on their face.
